Skye was a character in the Savage Seas, an early version of Zootopia.
Physical Appearance
Skye is a fox with light tan fur. She wears a turquoise short-sleeved shirt and blue overalls. Her eyes are blue-purple and she sits on a tool box with the letters S, K, Y, E painted on the side.
Another bit of concept art exists that shows a white-furred arctic fox in an orange wetsuit. However, it's unclear if that image was also intended to be Skye or some other character.
Development
An early draft of Zootopia, featured Jack Savage, as the main protagonist who was a spy/adventurer and had an assortment of vehicles and gadgets. Presumably Skye, the mechanic, was the one who worked on and/or built these items.
Some of the Savage Seas posters featured the silhouette of a female fox which many theorize is Skye. However, it is unclear if she is a fellow spy/adventurer on the same level as Jack, or a sidekick who occasionally tags along on his missions.
Trivia
- The letters S-K-Y-E on her toolbox in a piece of concept art was taken to be her name by the fans and endorsed by director Byron Howard.[2]
