Koslov is a male polar bear and a minor character in Zootopia. He is a member of the Tundratown mafia and Mr. Big's closest friend and henchman.
Personality
Koslov is a calm and quiet polar bear that rarely expresses his emotions. Koslov is always frowning and never seen smiling, even during great events. Still, even without expressing himself in appearance or words, Koslov’s personality can be read like an open book by Mr. Big, who has known the bear since childhood, and the polar bear himself shows his feelings with simple gestures regarding his friends and family that he values greatly.
In his childhood, Koslov used to be a gentle and friendly polar bear cub that expressed his feelings much more openly than in his adulthood. Being treated kindly by others was enough for Koslov to become a friend to his kind acquaintances, willing to help them in any way he could. Even as a small bear cub, Koslov was very brave and selfless when it came to protecting his friends, even if it meant confronting those bigger and stronger than him. After his friend, Mr. Big, became a powerful and fearsome figure, Koslov himself began to change, by being less cheerful, but still maintained a happy smile as a cub.
Physical Appearance
Koslov is a large and rather intimidating polar bear, identified as the largest polar bear around Mr. Big.[1] He has thick, black eyebrows and a black nose at the tip of his gray snout and muzzle. He has round ears and a fat neck.
He wears a black business suit over a black turtleneck, as well as two golden necklaces. He looks almost the same as Raymond and Kevin, with the exception that Koslov is much taller and larger.
As a cub, Koslov wore patched pants, a belted jumper, and a large hat.
Development
In previous drafts of the film, Koslov was the boss of the Tundratown underworld[2] and owner of Koslov's Palace.
In these drafts, Nick Wilde, after numerous rejected attempts to get a bank loan to fund his Wild Times project, resorts to him for the money, to which he agrees to do so.
There is also a scene in which Koslov sadly presents his son, Morris, with a tame collar. This scene was scrapped along with the entire tame collar idea.
Role in the Film

Carrying him in his hands, Koslov escorts Mr. Big into the latter's office and sets him on his desk so the shrew can talk to Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde.
He is later seen at Gazelle's concert at the end of the film. Mr. Big and Fru Fru dance in his hands while he bobs his head to the music with an expressionless face.
Role in The Godfather of the Bride

During Fru Fru's wedding, Mr. Big tells the story of how his family came to Zootopia. After one of his bakery deliveries, Mr. Big sees several of neighborhood polar bears overheating and treats Koslov, who is then just a cub, to an ice cream cone. In return, Koslov begins to help with his deliveries and Mr. Big continues to gain allies.
A Rhino Boss becomes aware of the success of Mr. Big and his Grandmama's bakery and comes to shake down the place. When Koslov tries to defend Mr. Big, the Rhino picks him up and threatens him. This causes Mr. Big to stand up to the gangster and the residents help to literally ice the Rhino by having him fall into an ice factory. Soon, Mr. Big takes over the neighborhood, and Koslov takes on the role of his right hand.
