Season 3 of the martial arts crime drama Warrior was picked up for a 10-episode season order by Max, known then as HBO Max, on April 14, 2021, after being canceled by Cinemax.[1] It premiered on June 29, 2023.
On December 18, 2023, Max announced that the series was canceled and would not be returning for a fourth season. Additionally, Netflix received non-exclusive rights to its existing three seasons, with it becoming available to stream February 2024.[2]
Synopsis
In the wake of the race riots that upended Chinatown in season two, Mai Ling uses her government connections to consolidate power, while Ah Sahm and the Hop Wei must find new ways to survive.[3]

Production
- With Cinemax no longer commissioning original programming by January 2020, Warrior remained in limbo. Therefore, fans created a petition asking for a third season, which received over 68,000 signatures as by April 2021.[12][13]
- On April 14, 2021, Max, known then as HBO Max, renewed Warrior.[1]
- Production began on July 18, 2022[14] and concluded November 2022.[15]
- On July 27, 2022, Mark Dacascos and Chelsea Muirhead were cast as series regulars.[4]
- Notably, both Joanna Vanderham (Penelope Blake) and Céline Buckens (Sophie Mercer), who previously starred in the first and second season, are both absent from season three without explanation.
