Zett

Zett (ゼット, Zetto)^[2][3][4] is a Zetton-based life form, described as a Zetton with a "heart". He debuted in a stage show at Ultraman Festival 2016 and made his first on-screen appearance in Ultra Galaxy Fight: The Absolute Conspiracy.

History

Ultra Heroes EXPO THE LIVE

Zett was somehow created and put in charge of a Zetton army. He went around the universe looking for strong opponents to defeat, so that he could call himself the "strongest in existence". Zett made his way to Planet U40 to challenge Ultraman Joneus, who told Ultraman Titas and Ultraman Taiga to retrieve the Wise Man's Sword, an artifact built using U40's advanced superscience that could seal away evil. While Zett fought Joneus and allowed his Zettons to rampage, the two Ultramen eventually obtained the sword by pulling it out of its safeguard through their combined power of light. Taiga then used the sword to impale Zett, sealing the villain and the item away together. ^{Ultra Heroes EXPO THE LIVE}

Ultra Galaxy Fight: The Absolute Conspiracy

A recently-revived Alien Bat was commissioned by Absolute Tartarus to pledge his loyalty to The Kingdom, who complied by creating Zett as a "hearted" Zetton. ^{The Appearance} He was present when Tartarus made his move to recruit Parallel Isotopes into his aid, especially during Ultraman Belial's introduction to the team. ^{The Divergence}

Alien Bat later sent Zett to confront the Tri-Squad in the middle of their training on Planet Maijii, and summoned his army of Zettons to aid him.^[7] Zett and his army initially started to overwhelm the Tri-Squad, but they were later aided by Ultraman Ribut and Andro Melos. They managed to turn the tide of battle, and Zett was forced to retreat after facing Ultraman Taiga Photon-Earth.

Later on, Zett and the Zettons attacked Yullian and Ultraman 80 after they crash landed on Planet Ebil. The two of them fought off the enemies until Ultramen Mebius, Taiga and Z arrived to help them. Later on, Ultraman Zero, Ultraman Joneus, Ultraman Titas, Ultraman Fuma, Ultrawoman Grigio, Ultraman Ribut and Andro Melos also appeared, and they all fought the Zetton army together. After fusing into Tri-Strium, Taiga handled Zett in place of 80 and Mebius, attacking him with a barrage of finishers while being helped by Ultraman Z, who fired the Zestium Beam at Zett just after Taiga had impaled him with the Taiga Blast Attack. In desperation, Zett tried to regenerate his Zetton army once more, but they were promptly finished off by Taiga Tri-Strium's new move, Rainbow Strium Burst. ^{The Appearance}

Powers and Weapons

• Zetton's Powers: Zett is known to possess abilities based on Zetton and its many incarnations. This is demonstrated when he is able to defeat a Grand King by himself.
  • Flight: As means of traveling, Zett is capable of anti-gravity flight on his own.
  • Finisher Beam: Presumably from Zetton's data, Zett can launch a destructive energy beam by stretching his arms forward. It is powerful enough to rival Ultraman's Spacium Beam.
  • Energy Arc: Zett can launch an arc of blue-purple energy that can defeat both Father of Ultra and Mother of Ultra at the same time.
  • Beam: Zett can fire a beam from his hand.
• Zett Black Lance^[9]: Zett's main weapon, created separately by Alien Bat and based on a sasumata. This is also used to fight a Super Grand King as a test-run.
  • Energy Wave: Zett fires scythe-like energy waves from his lance.
• Zetton Manipulation: As the embodiment of Zettons, he can manipulate any of the monster's variations to his bidding.
  • Zetton Empowerment: Zett can provide a power boost to Zettons that allow them to surpass a regular Ultra. The only way to weaken them is to destroy Zett himself.
• Artificial Zetton Army (人工ゼットン軍団, Jinkō Zetton Gundan): Zett can summon a variety of Zettons that can regenerate from death endlessly until Zett's own destruction. Among those summoned include normal Zettons, Hyper Zettons, EX Zettons, and Zetton Falx.
• Kaiju Cards: Zett possesses a set of Kaiju Cards, having summoned the Lord Monster Maga-Zetton as his aid and a member of his Zetton army.
• Alien Baltan Housing: Zett houses multitudes of Alien Baltan in his body and his destruction can release them to create Zetton Alien Baltan.

Ultraman Festival 2016 Live Stage Part 2

Through the data of Zetton's past incarnations, Zett was a biological weapon made by Alien Bat in hopes of getting his revenge against the Ultra Warriors, seeing that the monsters' past defeats are due to being "heartless", seeing the necessity of a Zetton to be given a heart. His creation was considered as a success after demonstrating his powers by killing a reinforced Super Grand King, much to Bat's own delight but unfortunately, Zett developed sentience and killed his creator, wanting to perform the deed without obeying anyone's orders.

Carrying out his former master's plan to eliminate the Ultras, Zett assembled an army of Zettons (original Zetton, Maga-Zetton, EX Zetton, Clone Zetton and Alien Zetton) in an attack against the Land of Light where he defeated both Father of Ultra and Mother of Ultra at once, but was stopped from killing them by Ultraman himself, who was later on assisted by other Ultras including Ultraseven, Ultraman Max, and Ultraman Scott, who battled against Zetton, EX Zetton, Clone Zetton and Alien Zetton while Zett escaped and Ultraman chased him down.^[10][11] Zett and the Zetton army headed to Earth, and were confronted by more Ultra Warriors including Ultraman X, Ultraman Zero, Ultraman Mebius, and then summoned Maga-Zetton from a Kaiju Card. He also defeated Ultraman while his army fought and defeated the other present Ultras. ^[12]

Just when all hope seemed lost, Ultraman Orb appeared. In the ensuing battle, Orb received the Ultra Fusion Cards of Ultraman Ginga and X, using them to initiate Lightning Attacker and wiping out Maga-Zetton with the Attacker Ginga X, then followed by the Sparion Beam with the other Ultras' beams. With Zett left, he faced the original Ultraman and was defeated when they clashed their finishers. However in his final moments, he combined a regular Zetton with Alien Baltan, creating Zetton Alien Baltan as his final trump card.^{[13][14] Ultraman Festival 2016 Live Stage Part 2}

Trivia

• Similar to past roles by Tomokazu Sugita (Ultraman Ginga and Dark Lugiel), this figure also bears a staff/lance as his main weapon.
  • Zett's lance was modified from Alien Babarue's Babarue Stick.
  • Zett is more likely based on Dark Lugiel, not only sharing the same weapon and voice actor, but also due to their dominant color being black and being defeated when clashing their finisher rays with an Ultra Warrior. Prior to their destruction, another enemy would took their place, Alien Chibull Exceller and Zetton Alien Baltan.
• Zett's suit is modified from an unused suit of Ultraman the Next's new form in the cancelled sequel of the 2004 film ULTRAMAN.^[15]
