Trivia

- According to screenwriter Jiro Kaneko:[2]
- Kaneko's involvement in the series came at the request of Takeshi Yagi. Fukuda had previously worked as a writer on Ultraman Max, contributing to episodes 12, "Pursuit at Supersonic Speed," and 17, "Ice Beauty." Given the significant differences in Ultraman Max, Kaneko developed a fresh concept for the series. He enjoys stories with comedic elements, so he considered something like this: an alien invader with malicious intentions arrives on Earth, only to be completely unaware that the humans have no idea about their invasion. The alien ends up feeling smug and halting the invasion, returning home in defeat.
- Another element was the anti-war theme. Considering that the original Ultraseven aired in the late 1960s, the times were vastly different compared to 2007. For modern-day Japan, war had become a distant and unfamiliar concept. However, on the other side of the world, war was still ongoing. As a result, Kaneko decided to incorporate a message that resonated with the current era in this episode.
- Initially, the concept was to have Jin and the other agents show a strong bias toward the weaker alien, Alien Chamuda. The weaker alien, having successfully retaliated against the approaching Alien Vo-Da, would then present a scene of total annihilation. Afterwards, Jin would be tormented by guilt. However, during a meeting, Yagi suggested, "Since war has no winners, how about we end with both sides being annihilated?" Kaneko realized that this would make the anti-war message even clearer.
- When writing the script for ULTRASEVEN X, Kaneko found one of the most difficult challenges to be the fact that "the world has already been invaded." He reflected that it would be unrealistic for new invaders to come to Earth in such a scenario. The show mentions that humans ended the last war five years ago, implying that the world's invasion was completed at that time. Though not officially part of the setting, Kaneko based his script on this concept. While war may never truly end, it is a case of more powerful forces intervening.
- Additionally, the "Showa-era" style stores that appear in the near-future world were intentionally included. Kaneko believes that despite the progress of time, there will always be places where the trends lag behind. This depiction pleased director Suzuki Kenji. Moreover, since he had taken the time to write the script, Kaneko felt it would be pointless to create something ordinary, so he made the weaker aliens in the story the "weakest" in the Ultraman series, intending them to be even weaker than the Earthlings.
