Trivia

- According to director Takeshi Yagi:
- Yagi shared that the development of the first episode was slow until the final draft was decided, with screenwriter Yuji Kobayashi putting in significant effort.
- Airing late at night, unlike previous series aimed at children, the show sought to distance the DEUS setting from traditional "SSSP" and "Ultra Guard." From the outset, their goal was to create a series that avoided the typical hero genre, instead adopting a style similar to Western sci-fi films and TV shows.
- As for the visual presentation of giant monsters, it was done in an entirely different way. While miniature models were not completely absent, they were hardly used. The primary goal was to showcase a more realistic world, which was achieved through real-location shots combined with CGI.
- According to a 2008 conversation between Yuji Kobayashi and Takeshi Yagi:
- Kobayashi noted that since the show aired late at night, they initially decided that it was fine not to include monsters or aliens in the story, which allowed them to throw in a curveball and approach the story in a different way.
- The antagonists of the first episode (a male named KING and a female named QUEEN) were inspired by chess, with the "Knight" representing Jin.
- At Yagi's strong request, MiWa, who had played the Suit actor in the 2006 film Silver Mask, was brought in to portray QUEEN.
- This episode aired in the United States on TOKU on June 5, 2017.
