Final Test

Final Test (最終テスト, Saishū Tesuto) is the fifty-fifth episode of Ultraman Cosmos.

Plot

The alien girl who infiltrated the Kaburaya Islands turns the harmless monster Mienin into the bio weapon Gamoran. What is the important incident that the girl speaks of? Can humanity pass the ultimate test that has been thrust upon it?

Trivia

• This episode came out the same day as the movie Ultraman Cosmos 2: The Blue Planet.

• 

  According to producer Hiroyasu Shibuya, the main plot of this episode is the continuation of the "Gomoran story" from episode 7, "Present from the Sky," serving as its second part. The secondary plot follows the third part of the "Hiura and Sawaguchi story" from episode 44, "Ghighi vs Gon." In this episode, Hiura faces the challenge of balancing his duties as the EYES leader with his romantic relationship with Sawaguchi. He prioritizes his responsibility as a leader, which leads to him being marked as "failing" in his romantic life. However, in the later "retake," his relationship with Sawaguchi remains unresolved.^[1]
• Regarding the design of Mitoru, she was initially envisioned to be older, but Hirochika Muraishi believed that "it would be better if the questioner were a pure, innocent child." As a result, she was portrayed in her current youthful form.
