- «I've only been exiled for three years, but… does it ever get easier?»
«Afraid not, Tans. Not in the five years since I was banished, anyway.» - ―Tans and Ilini
Tans was a non-binary Ubese slicer and bounty hunter who joined Boushh and his crew of exiles from Uba IV.
Biography
Tans was a non-binary[2] Ubese who was exiled from Uba IV three years before the War of the Bounty Hunters.[1] They[3] were a member of a crew led by Boushh consisting of fellow Ubese exiles who worked as bounty hunters, along with Ilini, Hareck, and Brene.[1]
Tans and the rest of the crew were hired for Silas Tagge's failed coup attempt on the Executive Board of the Tagge Corporation. Lady Domina Tagge subsequently hired the crew,[1] and Tans helped defend her against another assassination attempt by Ronen Tagge and Crimson Dawn.[5]
Personality and traits
- «I don't like it. This is an assassin's job, not a bounty hunter's.»
«We've done worse for less money.» - ―Hareck and Tans
Tans had difficulty adjusting to being exiled, but they appreciated it when Ilini commiserated with them. Boushh's reassurance that the crew was a family made Tans emotional.[1] They often addressed Boushh as "boss."[1][5] Compared to Hareck, Tans was less bothered by doing the work of an assassin.[1]
Skills and abilities
Tans was a capable slicer and had sufficient skill to disable comms, lock down systems,[1] and open doors with wrecked consoles.[5]
Equipment
Tans wore a helmet in shades of brown with a red visor, a red cape, and gray boots, along with beige garments and a reddish-brown jerkin, thick belt, and studded gloves. They also carried a blaster pistol.[1]
Behind the scenes
- "The baby of the group, always doing their best! Wants to be just like Boushh when they grow up"
- ―Alyssa Wong, describing Tans
Tans appeared in War of the Bounty Hunters – Boushh 1, a one-shot issue of the Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters comic book crossover event, which was written by Alyssa Wong with art by David Baldeón.[1] After the release of the issue, Wong shared further details from their script notes on their Twitter account, including Tans' non-binary gender and observations about their personality. Wong named Tans after game designer Ellys Tan.[3]
