- "Can you move? Your cape is in my way."
"No."
"You have no sense of personal space."
"But I have a great sense of style." - ―Shriv Suurgav and Lando Calrissian
A cape was a loose-fitting outer garment that was fastened at the wearer's neck and draped from the shoulders. Landonis Balthazar Calrissian wore capes as a statement of style and fashion.
Description

A cape was a sleeveless outer garment that was fastened at the neck and fell loosely from the shoulders.[12] During the Clone Wars, the planet Abafar hosted a cape retailer named Land O' Capes.[13] The human Landonis Balthazar Calrissian believed that a cape was a very stylish choice of clothing, but his ally Shriv Suurgav believed it hampered the personal space he offered to others.[11] Calrissian's companion L3-37 also once noted that wearing a cape seemed to enhance what she believed to be Calrissian's delusions of grandeur.[14]
History
- "Please forgive him. I've concluded it has something to do with the cape. It enhances his delusions of granduer."
- ―L3-37, regarding Landonis Balthazar Calrissian

Lando Calrissian, the Baron Administrator of Cloud City, often wore fashionable capes for style,[12] as did the Dark Lord of the Sith and former Jedi Master Dooku.[3] The cyborg General Grievous, leader of the droid armies of the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars, also often wore a cape, within which he kept Jedi lightsabers he had stolen.[4] The suit of armor of another Dark Lord, Darth Vader, also included a black cape.[8] Swamp troopers and wet-weather gear stormtroopers of the 224th Imperial Armored Division on Mimban wore waterproof capes known as "slicks."
Director Orson Krennic affected a white cape with his Imperial uniform.[5] Director Sliro Barsha of the Imperial Security Bureau also wore a cape with his uniform, with his cape featuring fur along its top. Upon seeing it during the Battle of the Revelator, Barsha's brother Jaylen Vrax, shortly before executing his brother, complimented the cape and questioned if the fur was Barsha's own idea.[15] Captain Phasma of the First Order wore a black and red armorweave cape over her chromium-coated armor.[6] Her colleague, the dark side warrior Kylo Ren, began wearing a black cape in the aftermath of the Battle of Starkiller Base.[7]
