- "Sir, there has been another disturbance on "C" deck."
"I will investigate this situation personally." - ―A B1-series battle droid and Aut-O
Aut-O was an ST-series military strategic analysis and tactics droid who served in the naval forces of the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars with the military rank of commander. In 20 BBY, he commanded a Separatist fleet from a Providence-class Dreadnought that was used to protect an encryption module that was key to a major Separatist operation. As a result, Aut-O's fleet and flagship were infiltrated by a squad of Galactic Republic droids who retrieved the module. Aut-O personally led some of his forces to intercept them, but he and his droids were all destroyed.
Biography
- "Sir, there was a temporary power loss on "C" deck."
"Has the power been reestablished?"
"Yes. It was only a temporary fluctuation."
"Hmm, curious." - ―A B1-series battle droid and Aut-O

During the Clone Wars, Commander Aut-O[4] commanded a fleet consisting of mainly Recusant-class light destroyers and one Providence-class Dreadnought. His flagship carried an encryption module that was needed to decipher a coded transmission General Grievous sent to his allies. Meanwhile, the D-Squad infiltrated Aut-O's command ship with a stolen Confederate shuttle, intending to steal the module. The droid squad, led by colonel Meebur Gascon, got past the battle droid security, and got to C-Deck, where the module was being held. After multiple energy fluctuations, Aut-O decided to investigate the phenomena. Taking several B1-series battle droids and B2-series super battle droids with him, Aut-O made his way to C-Deck, where he discovered D-Squad attempting to steal the encryption module.[2]
He first held R2-D2 at gunpoint, but the plucky astromech turned off the gravity, causing all the droids to float helplessly around. Aut-O's escort was completely destroyed by the Republic forces, while Aut-0 tried to stop R2 and to eliminate Colonel Gascon. In the process, Aut-O held tight onto R2's legs, trying to stop the droid, but R2 burned and melted the super tactical droid's hands with his rocket boosters. Suddenly, Gascon jumped onto Aut-O's head, kicking the droid's optical sensors. Aut-O only defeated Gascon by shaking his head, but the pesky Zilkin regained strength and jumped back at Aut-O, who started firing on him. Aut-O was hit out of nowhere by WAC-47 holding a droid leg. Aut-O struck back in retaliation and knocked down WAC, who was distracted by Gascon. With WAC out of the way, Aut-O continued to pull down R2, who had gotten to the module. Aut-O tried at the same time to pull down the astromech and swat Gascon who was nearby.[2]

In the end, WAC-47 reactivated the gravity. Aut-O fell, then crushed Gascon. Witnessing this, R2 purposely dropped onto Aut-O, beheading him. As a result, D-Squad took possession of the encryption module. Yet after Aut-O's death, he sent a distress signal that triggered an alarm. However, battle droids on patrol mistook D-Squad for crew members, allowing the squad to flee Aut-O's flagship.[2]
Characteristics
A ST-series military strategic analysis and tactics droid, Aut-O and stood 1.94 meters tall[3] and he[4] had yellow sensors. Aut-O found it curious that his battle droids reported to him that there was a temporary power loss on C-Deck. After another energy disturbance on C-Deck, he decided to investigate the situation personally.[2]
Skills and abilities
- "Intruder alert. Intruder alert. Intruder alert."
- ―Aut-O after being decapitated.
Aut-O had a built-in intruder alert. When R2-D2 landed on top of him, he decapitated Aut-O, which sent out a distress signal that triggered an intruder alert.[2] Aut-O possessed armor, advanced strategic programming and was an effective leader. He was also programmed to resist interrogation by an enemy.[5]
Equipment
Aut-O carried an E-5 blaster rifle as he led his forces though C-Deck to apprehend D-Squad.[2]
Behind the scenes
Aut-O first appeared in "Secret Weapons," the tenth episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars season 5, and was voiced by Dee Bradley Baker, who also voiced all the clone troopers in show.[2]
