Tsunami

"There's a tsunami headed towards the city, Lieutenant. In two and a half minutes, they're dead."
Dr. Meredith Rodney McKay[src]

A Tsunami is a giant wave in a body of water that travels at fast speed. The hydrological phenomenon is created by the displacement of large volumes of water, which can be caused by a variety of circumstances. Tsunamis usually consist of a series of high waves that can range from minutes to hours.

History

In 2004, during the massive storm on Lantea, a tsunami headed towards Atlantis. Its height was taller than some of the city's towers. Dr. Rodney McKay managed to activate Atlantis' shield in time, saving the city from the force of it. (SGA: "The Eye")
