Tornado

"Now that's impressive."
Colonel Jack O'Neill[src]

A Tornado, also referred to as a Twister, is a violent spinning vortex of fast winds. They often have the appearance of a funnel-shaped cloud.

History

Tornado

In 2001, Shifu took the appearance of a tornado when he called for Dr. Daniel Jackson on Abydos. (SG1: "Absolute Power")

When addressing the threat to Atlantis of the Lantean storm of 2004, Dr. Rodney McKay pointed out that by the storm passing over a landmass, the likelihood of tornadoes and electrical activity greatly increased. (SGA: "The Storm")

In 2007, while in Kansas, Cameron Mitchell asked Darrell Grimes if he had a cell phone that worked. He was informed that two cell repeaters had went down after a twister that occurred in the previous month and that the phone company hadn't put new ones up yet. (SG1: "Bounty")

Tornado2

In 2008, during Dr. Malcolm Tunney's Matter bridge incident, a scientist asked why they couldn't turn off the Matter bridge's containment field. McKay explained that it housed so much cold air that it would create a sudden massive cold front, an instant mega storm, tornadoes included. Later on, the containment field failed, a few tornadoes formed outside of Kramer Innovations Lab and launched cars into the sky. After the bridges collapsed the tornadoes ceased. (SGA: "Brain Storm")
