Otorso is a Leader Krawl, and the fifth boss in Spectrobes. It is the first-phase of the final boss, Goblada. Otorso's property is Aurora.

Otorso is the Leader of the Gorga contigent. It appears in the Meido underground at the end of the planet, alongside it's helpers, Orbux and Orbix. It appears to defend Thoraxa and the Xelles Forest, whose roots are holding the interior of the planet together.

Appearance

Otorso is a towering, intimidating Krawl with black skin and purple, red, and yellow accents. Its fists have blunt spike growths growing upwards out of them, and a flower-like structure is on its left shoulder, (which it uses to launch its shockwave attack from the inside of).

Battle

Otorso initially attacks with shockwaves. It moves incredibly slow, but approaching it is not recommended because it deals heavy damage. You must use the Flame Geo in order to break its shield and be able to attack it.

Once Otorso's shield is broken, it will perform new moves. It will still perform its shockwave attack, but much more rarely. It will also perform a weaker slamming attack into the ground, by pummelling it's fists. This does much less damage than the initial shockwave attack it could use. Orbux and Orbix will also change strategy, and begin to emanate shockwaves to render melee Spectrobes incapable of approaching.

Strategy

Otorso can only be harmed when the Flame Geo is used on it. Once its shield has been taken down, the best method to defeat it is to use the knockback from Rallen's glove to push Otorso, Orbux and Orbix against the edge of the battlefield. This will also stop Orbux and Orbix from using their AoE attacks, and let you easily attack Ortorso with melee Spectrobes.

Trivia

  • Aspects of Otorso's design are shared by many bosses in Spectrobes, and in Spectrobes: Origins. It appears visually similar to Gyforma, Goblada and Galgore.
  • While Otorso's purple in-game icon does not denote its Aurora property, equipping various property suits and having Otorso attack Rallen shows that, through the difference in damage dealt, Otorso is, in fact, an Aurora-property Krawl.
