Area Meido (Underground)
|
Thoraxa is a Leader Krawl, and the sixth boss in Spectrobes. It is a Xelles. Thoraxa's property is Corona.
It appears in the Meido underground at the end of the planet. It is initially seen in the overworld by Rallen, and Otorso is summoned to defend it from the young Spectrobe Master. It's roots make up a majority of the underground area, in which Rallen has to traverse in order to face it. It appears to be holding the interior of the planet together, as Meido begins to collapse when Thoraxa is defeated.
Appearance
Thoraxa, like other Xelles’, appears like a petal-less flower, with an exposed stigma center and spikey filaments. It also has elements from fungi; as it uses spores to restore health to characters, and has a giant branching underground root system.
Battle
Thoraxa can't actually attack Rallen, and instead spawns two Zepi to fight for it. The Zepi are basic Zepi and are incredibly weak, however they are instantly revived by Thoraxa's healing spores if they are defeated. Once killed, Thoraxa seems to release one last wave of its healing pollens to revive Otorso.
Strategy
Thoraxa is incredibly easy to defeat. The reason why Otorso is summoned to protect it, is due to how defenceless Thoraxa is. Any attacks are effective against Thoraxa, as it cannot retaliate or escape. The Zepi it spawns are no threat, and you completely ignore them to focus on dealing damage to Thoraxa.
Trivia
- Thoraxa has one of the only custom battlefields in Spectrobes. The other notable one is present in the Sequence Battles on Nessa.
- Thoraxa's stems are burnt up in the overworld upon defeating it. The game assumes that you use the Flame Geo to defeat Thoraxa.
- Thoraxa's property is indicated to be Corona due to a test involving displayed damage taken when attacked by 3 different Evolved form Spectrobes. This happens to match with its icon color unlike multiple other Spectrobes bosses and enemies. The test was performed using the damage values of Inkaflare, Grildragos, and Shakoblad respectively.
