Ende is a character that appears in Soulcalibur III's Chronicles of the Sword. He is a bounty hunter sent by Strife to prevent the Arthias Rebels led by the Cadet from entering the city of Parousia. He awaits them outside the city, but as even as powerful as he is, he is eventually defeated (at least canonically speaking; his battle is completely optional, and he will never attack the player of his own accord). It's worth mentioning he's at level 99.
Battle Strategy
Ende is possibly the most difficult opponent to face in Chronicles of the Sword for multiple reasons; being level 99, he has the highest health out of all the enemy units thus far as well as speed, power, and vitality which greatly lessens the damage he'll take. He also wields the Kokuenra, a weapon that greatly makes him a threat as it will automatically cause some moves to become counters, and he'll have greater pushback force which can be a hazard near the ledge where ring outs are possible.
His AI is significantly higher than the other enemy units as he'll take great care to defend, as well as guard impact and even throw you when needed. He also frequently will sidestep and sidewalk to evade vertical attacks and he's adept at breaking throws. While it's more difficult, he can be defeated with anti-AI moves like the other opponents, but utilizing them against him can be more difficult since he reacts alot better to attempts to abuse them against him by guarding or effectively evading them.
Another danger is that the fortress he resides in has an adjusted aerial launch that will keep the player airborne much longer in the air when launched, increasing the risk of a ring out if Ende is able to successfully launch you and juggle you near the ledges.
Overall, there's no general guaranteed strategy to beating Ende as his difficult AI can be a frustration and can quickly adapt to moves you throw out. It's recommended to only engage with Ende when the player character is at a decent level to fight him; About level 50 or higher is reccomended since by then your units should have better health to manage as well as power, speed, and even vitality to lessen the damage you'll receive from him, but higher levels are even better as he becomes alot more easy to manage damage from. Losing against him also isn't a bad thing as he will notably give alot of experience points to the player from a loss, which can quickly help level up lower level units the earlier on he's thought as he can easily help them level up multiple levels at a time the lower experienced they are, but this will lessen as the player gets higher leveled as losing against him will net the player less experience.
Weapons
He uses the weapons common to the Sword Master style - Katana and his specific weapon of choice is the Kokuenra.

It's also commented that he bears a great resemblance to the Final Fantasy XII character Balthier, due to his color choices, his armor, his clothes style and the gun in his belt, since Balthier excels with using guns.
Trivia
- Defeating him is one of two ways to unlock Kokuenra. The other method is to participate in a total of 2,000 battles in Soulcalibur III.
