Prism Energy

Prism Energy, also known as Shard Energy or Prismatic Energy,^[1] is a subject that appears in the Sonic Prime television series. It is the energy that comes from the Paradox Prism.

Appearance

When in Sonic's shoes, the Prism Energy looks like white lightning.

Powers and abilities

Its mysterious power can be used in a variety of ways, and each Prism Shard has a unique power.

History

TV series

Season one

After Sonic destroyed the Paradox Prism, a lot of its energy got into him. Sonic notices this, as his shoes suddenly have white lightning. This causes him trouble to run fast. Nine is able to control this energy and help Sonic by creating the Regulators. Through the season, Sonic uses the Prism energy to travel across the Shatterverse. The energy allows him to enter the Gateways, something for example Shadow can't do.

Thorn Rose used the green Shard's energy to create more vegetation and attack Sonic.

When Nine got his hands on the red Shard, he was also able to use the energy to enter the Void and other Shatterspaces.

Season two

With three Prism Shards in their hands, the Chaos Council used Prism energy to enter other Shatterspaces. They also used it to create bigger and stronger robots, open portals to other worlds, and create new stuff from scratch like Chaos Sonic.

Knuckles the Dread used the blue Shard's energy during a battle, which gave him lightning powers.

Even after Sonic and Nine stole the Council's Shards, there was still some remaining Prism energy that could be used. The Council was able to give more power to Dr. Deep and Dr. Babble during battle. They were also able to create a Prismatic Titan in the form of Dr. Eggman. This Titan was so powerful that it was too powerful for both Sonic and Shadow.

Nine used his tech to harness the Prism Shards' power and gave it to Sonic, which transformed him in Shatter Sonic. It gave him super strength and even more speed. This allowed Sonic to beat the Prismatic Titan in just one touch.

Season three

After uniting all five Shards, which rebuilt the Paradox Prism, Nine would create a forcefield over his newly constructed Citadel to protect it. He would then use the Prism Energy to make Grim versions of Sonic and his friends as his minions, clone them, as well as summon in lightning-like projectiles. But, every time he used the Paradox Prism, it would end up weakening the forcefield as well as his forces. This was due to the fact that, even though it was restored physically, it was unstable, as it still needed some Prism Energy, energy that was still inside Sonic.

After Nine regained his senses, he, with Sonic's permission, extracted the remaining Prism Energy inside of him, which stabilized the Paradox Prism and its energy, as well as removing the seams which outlined where each Shard was, thus completing it. It weakened Sonic, destabilizing him and causing him to slowly fade out from existence. Nine would use the stable Paradox Prism to reform the Gateways to all of the Shatterspaces, including the Ghost Hill one, which transformed into the Gateway for Green Hill. Then, Shadow, with the initial boost given by Birdie and all of the Amy Rose Shatter Variants, managed to get Sonic to the Green Hill Gateway, thus healing him, as well as letting Sonic and Shadow return to their home reality.
