For the secret society mentioned by urban legends in AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES, see here.
- Tokiko: "The simulation theory. Have you heard of it?"
- Ryuki: "You're saying everything in this world we're living in isn't real...?"
- Tokiko: "Yes, it's a false world constructed with specific rules, by a program. And if it is made by a program, there must by necessity be imperfections, edges, or seams. To find these seams, or to create them, is our objective."
The Naixatloz (ナイカトロッズ, Naikatorozzu), also known as NAIX (ナイクス, Naikusu), is an organization appears in AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES - nirvanA Initiative.
Naixatloz is a global ideological society with its main headquarters in New York, USA, with branches around the world including the Japan Branch located in Chuo District, Tokyo. This organization aims to "find, or create the seams" in what they believe to be a "virtual world" to "reach Moksha" for people in this world.
The name Naixatloz is interpreted by Tokiko Shigure, President of Naix Japan Branch, as an acronym for "Nine X at Lozenge", that is, a description of the organization's logo "Nonuple-X."
History
- "Naix is a perfectly legitimate ideological society."
- "We are a group of like-minded individuals who act together based on a certain understanding of the universe."
- —Tokiko's description about Naixatloz
Early Development
Naixatloz has a Japan Branch, which was also one of the branches that had formed at that time.
A middle-level Naix Japan Branch executive named Chikara Horadori had an affair with a woman named Tokiko Shigure and gave birth to an illegitimate child, Jin Furue. Since Chikara demanded that Tokiko relinquish custody of the child and adopt him to another family, Tokiko received a higher position in Naixatloz in exchange, and finally, the President at Naix Japan Branch. Chikara later joined Naixatloz's religious sub-sect Order of % and gradually faded out from Naix.
After being promoted and eventually becoming president, Tokiko supported a boy named Uru Somezuki, who was imprisoned by Chikara as an organ donor to Jin. She taught Naix's Teachings to Uru, making him eventually a devout disciple of Naix and Tokiko's right-hand underling.
Events Before the HB Case
See here for events in the first game's story. Note that AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES spoilers are within!
Naixatloz posted a video called Bats490 online and hid the code in it. A boy named Shoma Enda unlocked the code, and according to the unlocked information came to the Cathedral under the Naixatloz Japan Branch building. There, he met Tokiko and found that she seemed to be reading a file. Due to Tokiko's awareness of his approach, he was unable to know what was on the file. After that, Shoma gradually recognized Naix's ideas and became a member.
A man named Mamoru Bodai joined Naixatloz under the introduction of an acquaintance and became Tokiko's bodyguard and secretary.
Involvement to Half Body Serial Killings

On February 11th, during the investigation on Murder of Jin Furue, ABIS officer Kuruto Ryuki's Psync into Chikara led him to get a clue related to Naix, and then he came to Naixatloz Japan Branch Office Building and met Tokiko there. Tokiko denied the connection of the QR Video to Naix during Ryuki's interrogation, and expounded a large amount of Naix's teachings to him. In fact, the QR Video did originate from Naix, but it was produced by Uru Somezuki alone. He was working on helping Naix with a project called the Nirvana Initiative, but it was still years away from being ready. For the next six years, Naix awaited the completion of the viral transformation from the Horadori Institute of Genetics and the secret transformation of the Tokyo National Stadium's underground structures.
The Nirvana Initiative
Six years later, Shoma quitted Naixatloz, and preparations for the Nirvana Initiative were nearing completion with the help of Horadori Institute of Genetics's creation, the PERGE virus, which was engineered into a TC-PERGE virus capable of disrupting human cognition. The Nirvana Initiative was scheduled by Naix to be held at Tokyo National Stadium on Tokiko's 60th birthday. There, Naix Members would team up with scientists from the Horadori Institute and a group of mercenaries to defend the rocket loaded with the TC-PERGE virus from there into the sky. On the 13th, some Naixatloz crew prepared the rocket for the rehearsal ceremony and launched it from Misetan Amusement Park that night. However, the rocket did not carry TC-PERGE.
Unfortunately for Naixatloz, Uru was killed on February 10th, and Tokiko committed suicide two days later with unknown reason. Although Ryuki knew the term Nirvana Initiative from his Psync into Tokiko right before her suicide, that was all he knew. At this time, the only person ABIS could know who had clues about the Nirvana Initiative was Amame Doi whom said the word during the Psync performed by ABIS in 14th.

ABIS performed the second Psync into Amame on the morning of the 15th to try to obtain clues, and combined with the location where Uru arranged the bodies of victims 6 years ago, it came to the conclusion that the Nirvana Initiative would be held at the Stadium. The police surrounded the whole Stadium, and ABIS officers and their allies stormed into the Stadium, wiped out the hostiles guarding the rocket there, and burned the rocket with thermite bombs, causing the Nirvana Initiative to fail.
After the failure of this incident, Naix's reputation in the society had been ruined. Naix Japan Branch appeared to have been forcibly disbanded after this, a large number of members were eventually arrested by the police, and Mamoru lost his job.
