Gort (ゴート) is an elderly dwarf who lives in Guardiana. He won't join when talked to for the first time, being too drunk. Gort will join though after Guardiana gets invaded.
Gort is depicted as an old and seasoned warrior. When encountered the first time, he is drinking to pass time and potentially forget about battling. However after seeing how Runefaust wreaked havoc on Guardiana, he feels bad for not being able to protect the kingdom and joins Max in order to punish Runefaust for attacking Guardiana.
Gort is one of the best fighters in Shining Force: The Legacy of Great Intention and its remake Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon. He's very strong and has great defense. Lug seems to have great respect for Gort, and paired together they work very well in the front lines of battles.
