Pasulong (transl. Forward) is the first album by ALAMAT. It was released on October 28, 2022 with Aswang, serving as the album's title track.
Background
On June 15, 2022 the group announced on their Facebook live that they will be releasing the first mini album to be released this year. Mini album tracks will be revealed in the coming weeks.[1][2]
On June 23, 2022, the group officially announced their first track for their first upcoming mini album to be released this year, it was titled “Say U Love Me”.[3][4] On the same day, the group posted on their official social media accounts a teaser scheduler for Say U Love Me to be released in the month of July. It was also announced that their upcoming first mini album will contain six new songs and will also include Say U Love Me, as the album’s title track or lead single.[5] It was announced on July 1, 2022 that the single will be released on July 7, 2022 as a pre-release single on their upcoming first mini album.[6] The pre-single was officially released on July 7, 2022.[7]
On August 22, 2022, the single "ILY ILY" was released in collaboration with Lyca Gairanod with the music video released on the next day. The track is inspired by the Hiligaynon folk lullaby, Ili Ili Tulog Anay and served as a tribute to the OFWs.
The EP, entitled Pasulong was then released on October 28, 2022 with the release of the music video of its lead single, Aswang, featuring LITZ's Fatima being the titular character in the MV.
On January 15, 2023, it was announced that the track, Maharani will be given a music video.[8] The music video included the appearance of BINI's Jhoanna. The music video was then released on January 24, 2023.
Sometime after the release of the Maharani music video, ALAMAT's profile picture in all of its social media accounts was changed to a heart wrapped in thorns in a bottle, hinting that the track, Gayuma will also be given a music video, which was confirmed on February 25, 2023.[9] The schelduler was then released the next day, with the music video release date confirmed to be on March 9, 2023.[10]The music video features G22's leader AJ, portraying the Techno Babaylan.
