Joshua Magsilong Alvarez (born March 28, 2001) is a Filipino singer, rapper under Viva Records and member of boy group Alamat.
Career
2020-2021-present: Debut with Alamat
On November 19, 2020, Alas was introduced to public through Alamat Facebook page as Trainee 9 and his codename Banoy, which means "eagle". The Philippine Eagle Center is located in Davao and the region boasts itself as the "land of the eagles".
He replaced former Trainee 9, Ambri, who had the codename Bahani- the Yakan word for "brave" who left earlier in the month.
[1] On February 14, Alas debuted as an official member of Alamat with their debut single "kbye".[2]
2025: "Don't Play" debut solo release
[3]On February 7, 2025, Alas debuted as a solo artist with his debut solo song, "Don't Play".
