Trivia
- Melmetal and its pre-evolution are the first and only Pokémon to debut in Pokémon GO before any other Pokémon game, including the main series.
- When Meltan evolves into Melmetal, it grows vastly stronger than before. Its body hardens as a result of its Evolution, and it becomes incredibly sturdy.[1]
- The bulk of its body is made of liquid metal. Its arms in particular are very flexible, and they can whip forward to deliver devastating punches. [1]
- Melmetal and its pre-evolution are also the only Mythical Pokémon that can be transferred, traded, and be deployed as Gym defender.
- Melmetal and its pre-evolution are the only Pokémon to classified under as being from Unknown origins in Pokédex.
- Melmetal is the first Mythical Pokémon with a pre-evolution.[1]
- Melmetal has a unique animation when being defeated at the Gym, as its body melts into metallic puddle with nut-shaped parts of its body. This animation also occurs when in regular battle and the main series.
