Puddles are a type of object introduced in Generation III.
Description
Puddles are often produced as the result of a rainfall occurring. They reflect the sky above, including the player if they are above. Whenever the player walks in a puddle, this causes a splashing sound effect. Prior to Generation V, puddles lack any gameplay function and are just part of the field. Since Generation V, the player has a chance of encountering a wild Pokémon on a puddle, which can turn into ice during the winter.
