Grusha is a slim young man with smooth, pale skin and a slightly androgynous appearance. He has icy blue hair with two overhanging fringes and a curly bang. His eyes are blue as well, with yellow shading below the pupils and long eyelashes, giving him a feminine look.
Befitting his type specialty, Grusha wears an outfit that's tailored for cold weather. It consists of a yellow and black coat with spiky shoulders, blue pants, and dark blue gloves. On his feet, he wears thick blue boots with light blue toes, black soles, and yellow fluff at the tops. The fluff matches his coat, and he additionally has x-shaped boot laces in the same color.
Grusha also wears a long red and blue scarf with a Poké Ball-shaped bauble at the end. The scarf usually covers his face and mouth, but he pulls it down occasionally while talking.
Personality
Grusha is a highly professional individual, who values victory above all else. Unlike other Gym Leaders, he is less lenient and has less tolerance for second chances, regardless of how hard his opponents have pulled through. This coldness is due to how he can no longer be a professional skier after his legs had been severely wounded in an accident.
Regardless of his harshness, Grusha is deep down a kind person who thinks his methods are the best for each individual, even if he comes off as too unfair.
Biography
Grusha was formerly a passionate skier, who had earned many awards. However, when having to avoid a Cetoddle during one of his attended matches, Grusha ended up badly injuring his right leg. After he was discharged from hospital, Grusha forgave and captured Cetoddle as his teammate. But due to this accident, he gave up being a skier, and lost his passionate side. This stems from how he felt he could no longer achieve the scores he aimed for, despite still being able to move after his injury.[1]
After briefly meeting Liko at the Naranja Academy, Grusha warned the girl not to get too arrogant about herself, before he turned away and left.[2] He also left after watching Ryme and Roy ended their rematch.[3]
Grusha eventually had his match with Liko. Although Liko exerted her very best, Grusha still managed to defeat her with his Altaria. Disappointed in Liko, then sternly said he refused to give her a chance to rematch and failed her test in general regardless of Roy and Dot pleading him, even snarking at how the other Gym Leaders were short-sighted for letting both of them pass, because he believed that life never gave second chances based on his own past.[1]
Despite giving Liko the fail earlier, Grusha still decided to help her, by saving Roy and Dot when being informed that they were cornered by Coral and Sidian. He and Professor Friede then took the kids to refuge inside a cabin after Liko was saved.[4] After witnessing Liko protecting Naranja Academy against the Explorers, Grusha decided to give amnesty to her on letting her pass her Terastalization test.[5]
