Biography

According to an ancient story, Lucius was an ancient adventurer who traveled across the regions, capturing the strongest Pokémon and treasures around the world. With his main partner, Rayquaza, he found five other likeminded Pokémon; Arboliva, Moltres, Lapras, Gouging Fire and Kleavor, who were subsequently called the Six Heroes. These Pokémon were kept in ancient Poké Balls and traveled from region to region until they found "paradise" and settled down there. At some point, he asked someone or something to find "it" - the paradise that was later revealed to be named Laqua.

After finding out about Terapagos through the Scarlet Book, Lucius became interested in Laqua. He later saved Rystal from a group of poachers, and met Gibeon at a cafe, forming the foundation of the Explorers. During his journey with his companions Gibeon and Rystal, Lucius and Rystal fell in love and wedded with each other, which later resulted in them having their daughter Leila. Unfortunately, Lucius met his premature disappearance, due to needing to protect Rystal, after Gibeon went insane and misused the Laquium to cause wild Pokémon on attacking Lucius and Rystal. Afterwards, Lucius was implied to have disappeared during the ensuing quake, leaving the devastated Rystal and Terapagos, and his eventual daughter never being able to know him.

After the devastating battle between Gibeon and Lucius, Lucius' Pokémon were scattered across the world; Rayquaza ended up with Roy's grandfather, Arboliva ended up in a forest near Artazon, Moltres ended up in the Galar Mines, Lapras out at sea, of which the latter three, including Kleavor, later end up with Lucius' great-great-granddaughter, Liko. Gouging Fire would later be under Liko's care after it was found in the Great Crater of Paldea.

Eventually, the Rising Volt Tacklers and Explorers discover that Lucius has been kept alive by Laquium for over a century, and Gibeon's Zygarde had been informing Lucius about the outside world, including his living descendants and Pagogo's whereabouts. Lucius tries to reason with Gibeon out of concern and care for his former friend that Laquium is dangerous if being forcibly excavated, but Gibeon refuses to heed Lucius anymore. As a result, Lucius has to join forces with the Rising Volt Tacklers and Amethio against Gibeon's ambition. Eventually, Lucius finally gets to peacefully ascend to the afterlife to meet his deceased wife, after his words manage to get through Gibeon, and he entrusts Pagogo to Liko before his departure.
