Biography

As a child, Alec accompanied with his father to the Alabaster Forest to gather wood for crafting. He learns from his father about how a terrifying Pokémon dwells in the woods. His father told him that coexistence humans and Pokémon wasn't possible. When venturing through the area, Alec came across a mysterious creature who was conjuring ghostly shapes with blue energy. Curious, Alec put on his Baneful Fox Mask to try and approach the Pokémon. Unfortunately, the mask fell off and the Zorua was startled by his presence. However, rather than frightened by the Zorua's illusion, Alec was amused by its attempts and tried approaching it, only to scare it and got pounced by the defensive Zorua. They both rolled down the hill and flew off a cliff; they were both amazed by the panoramic view before both realizing they were descending at a high speed.[1]
When he came to, Alec found that he and Zorua had survived the fall. However, Alec's leg had been bruised and he became frustrated by it. He decided to aid the young Zorua up the cliff to safety, showing the Pokémon that he meant no harm. After helping Zorua up, Alec attempted to climb himself, only for the root to snap and break. Zorua had soon returned to Alec, bearing some roots to give the young boy. Alec tried eating one, only to find it taste bitter. Zorua then came down to help Alec by using the plant to heal the boy's wound. Alec later let Zorua accompany him to return to his father, only for his father to act hostilely towards Zorua. Suddenly, Zorua's family appeared before he and his father's eyes, and he watched Zorua having to return to its pack. After the ghostly illusions the foxes unleashed, the boy's father decided to take him away and reiterated to his son that Pokémon could never coexist with humans, leaving the abandoned Baneful Fox mask behind.[2]

In the present, Alec had arrived at Jubilife Village to visit his father and hopefully reunite with his old friend. When a space-time distortion happened, Alec saw an injured Rufflet which he later rescued, but the villagers and even his own father judged him harshly. Cyllene and the rest of the security corps later accompanied him to the area of the distortion, where he insisted to rescue two wounded Snover despite the corps' objection. Just as Alec and the security corps were about to be attacked by a rampaging Alpha Garchomp, Zoroark, who was actually the former Zorua he encountered and befriended as a child, unleashed its illusions to frighten the Garchomp away. Before Alec temporarily fainted, he caught a glimpse of Zoroark's eyes lingering at him. After waking up, Alec realized Zoroark had never forgotten about him, but it had already got out of his sight when he wanted to catch up with him. As a parting gift, Zoroark returned Alec's childhood mask back to him, touching the young man's heart.
Upon leaving Hisui, his father bestowed to him a new mask in a similar fashion to one from his childhood. On the ship, Alec wore the mask and let out a howl to his friend.[3]
