Shane is one of the extra cars available to download for POD.

Information

"Officially, the Shane is a kind of war trophy brought back by an Io competitor to his beloved. Thus, once the beast was masterfully killed in an epic battle, dismembered and installed on its four wheels (including two very small ones at the front), engineers motorized the machine. But legend has it that on a rainy day, an Io driver, who had exaggereted their triumph, actually ran over an unfortunate squirrel, which was transformed into a machine with incredible grip! Appearance

Shane resembles a flying squirrel, with a bodywork that seems to be made out of wood or rusted metal.

• Shane has the same default settings as AV1 and F1.
• Shane was one of the 8 extra cars that came bundled with POD Gold.
• Shane is one of the cars featured in the POD: Extended Time boxart. The others being DarkSmil, Razor and Witch.
• In the easy difficulty setting, one of the opponents is named "Shane". The name is likely only a coincidence and not related to the car.
• Shane was released July 7th 1997, together with Skyrace.^[1]
