Information

""Flexible, light, tough, fast..." This was the launch slogan, but the Manta suffered badly from electronics problems. It was re-lauched just a year later with its name changed to Gamma, much the same bodystyle, but with a vastly improved electronics system, and proved quite successful." - Jupiter State Museum.

"This vehicle's name comes from the fact that it can resist intense radiation. Because the shape is low and flat, the vehicle does best on winding tracks." - UbiSoft French POD Site.

Appearance

Gamma is a reddish brown flat car, with white stripe decals and grate-like designs throughout its body. It has two yellow headlights and three red taillights.

Trivia

• Gamma has the same default settings as HL.Razor and Twin.
• Gamma is often regarded as the canon player car, because of its inclusion at the center of the box art, in the introduction cutscene, and also being the first car the player sees.
• Gamma is one of the cars featured both in the box art and in the game's intro. The others being Saber and Scorp.
• Every boxart of the game shows Gamma with a bright red color and no headlights. It's unknown if this is just an aesthetic choice or if that was an early design of it.
• Gamma's former name was Manta. This is true for both the in-universe lore and game development, as its file name in POD OEM 1.0 was indeed "Manta".
• Gamma is one of the two cars available in the POD demo, the other being AV1.
• Gamma's stripe on top of its cockpit is mirrored in the game's box art, introduction cutscene and menu image. In the american box art, the stripe going down to the front of the car is the one mirrored instead.
• Gamma's default stats in POD OEM 1.0 were:
  • Acceleration - 49
  • Brakes - 40
  • Grip - 95
  • Handling - 72
  • Speed - 44
