Synopsis
Part 1
Orticia is in her garden taking care of her plants and the Baby Pumpkins when Romeo sneaks up on her and startles her when he shouts "Trick or Treat!". Orticia is not happy to see him, but is interested when Romeo tells her about Halloween, which she is unfamiliar with. However, Romeo convinces Orticia that the holiday is all about playing tricks on people, and encourages her to try it herself. He also lies that it would be a perfect way to make new friends, and that the PJ Masks in particular love tricks. Orticia is convinced and heads for the city with her pumpkins.
Elswhere, Greg, Amaya and Connor are searching for a pumpkin for Halloween at the local pumpkin yard. They find a good one, but as they take it with them, a vine suddenly blocks Connors path and causes him to fall. Greg also notices bounce marks from the baby pumpkins. The friends realize something is wrong, and transform into their superhero identities to find out what.
They gather in HQ, but PJ Robot is unable to locate any villains with the PJ Picture Player. When the heroes leave HQ, however, they run into the baby pumpkins, who scare them, followed by Orticia, who attacks the heroes with flying leaves. The PJs try to capture her, but only fall victim to more of Orticia’s pranks, including a stinking plant and flowers that fly and sting like bees.
Romeo, who has been watching the whole thing, is disappointed, however, that Orticia is just toying with the PJs, and tells her to up her game with some mean tricks. When Orticia refuses, Romeo tricks her into following him and takes her captive. With a machine, he drains Orticia’s powers and transfers them to his new invention: the Plant Ray. He then leaves to wreak havoc on the city, while a severely tired Orticia calls out for the PJs to help her.
Part 2
At HQ, the PJs finally get rid of the stinging flowers. Then Catboy picks up Orticia’s call for help with his Cat Ears, and realizes Romeo is the real culprit. They find Orticia, but Gekko’s attempt to free her from the machine fails.
As the PJs try to free Orticia, Romeo uses the Plant Ray to pull pranks on Luna Girl, Night Ninja, the Wolfy Kids and Octobella. He then zaps the Baby Pumpkins, which causes them to grow into giants. With the giant pumpkins, Romeo plans to attack the PJs next.
By combining their powers, the PJs manage to free Orticia from Romeo’s machine. They tell her about the parts of Halloween that Romeo failed to mention, like getting treats for when you’re nice. Then they are alerted to the sound of the giant pumpkins wrecking cars. They follow Romeo and the pumpkins to the pumpkin yard, where Romeo plans to turn more pumpkins into giants and thus create an army. The PJs attack in an attempt to steal the ray from Romeo, but the pumpkins thwart every attempt.
Since tricks are not working, Orticia decides to try treats instead. She takes a watering can and gives the pumpkins some water while singing their favorite song. It works; the pumpkins side with Orticia again and give the PJs the Plant Ray. With the ray, Owlette restores Orticia’s powers and returns the pumpkins to their normal size. The PJs and Orticia share a group hug after which Orticia leaves with her pumpkins. Romeo also tries to leave, but then runs into the other nighttime villains who want revenge for his pranks. He tries to get the PJs to help him, but they refuse. Despite that, they help him get away with encouragement. The PJs shout their victory cry while Romeo is chased by the other villains.
