Synopsis
The PJ Masks are in The Park playing with the PJ Pets. Owlette show Catboy and Gekko the techniques she trained Owly. When Owlette wants to do another demonstration, Owly decides she's had enough and flies away. The following day, the owl is still missing, which worries Amaya. She fears something happened to her, so that night she, Connor and Greg transform into the PJ Masks to investigate. PJ Robot is unable to locate Owly with the PJ Picture Player, so the PJs leave HQ to look for Owly themselves.
They spot her in the city and try to capture her, but to no avail. Unbeknownst to the heroes, the Owly they are following is actually a hologram created by Romeo. He has captured the real Owly and wants to use her for his next plan. Robot, however, wants to keep Owly as his own pet, to which Romeo orders him to find a pet of his own. In the city, Owlette finally catches Owly and thus discovers it's a hologram. Then PJ Robot contacs the PJ Masks; Robot has broken into HQ and captured Alley Cat and Lionel. PJ Robot is too late to stop him.
The heroes regroup, while Romeo reveals his new invention: the PJ Crystal Power Grabber. He plans to drain the PJ Crystal power still present in Owly and add it to his own Flying Factory. When Robot retuns with the captured Alley Cat and Lionel, Romeo plans to drain their powers too. Robot objects since he wants to keep the pets for himself. While Romeo is arguing with Robot, he accidentally leaves his keys in the lock of Owly's cage. Owly seizes the opportunity to escape. She then causes Robot to drop the cages with Lionel and Alley Cat, and they too escape.
The PJ Masks also arrive at the Flying Factory with the Owl-Glider to get their pets back. Owlette tries to convince Owly that she is her friend, but the bird refuses to listen and flies back into the factory while trying to avoid her, feeling upset over Owlette always barking orders at her. Romeo summons his Fly Bots to capture the pets. The Fly Bots chase the pets throughout the factory, while the PJs try to defend their pets. Catboy and Gekko succeed in saving Alley Cat and Lionel, but Owly is still trying to get away from Owlette. When Robot tries to capture Owly in a butterfly net, she bumps into the Hologram Machine and creates dozens of holographic copies of herself. To make matters worse, it turns out that Gekko, while saving Lionel, damaged the Flying Factory's controls, and the Flying Factory is about to crash. Romeo plans to reset the computer to fix the damage, but Owly still has his keys, and with all the holograms flying around, he is unable to tell the real Owly from the fake ones.
As Romeo and Robot abandon the factory, the PJs try to find the real Owly among the holograms. When they finally track her down, Owly once again ignores Owlette. Catboy and Gekko realize that Owly doesn't like being constantly told what to do and wants Owlette to listen to her for a change. Owlette apologizes to the owl for not listening to her earlier and even joins her for a song. Now friends again, Owly finally listens to Owlette and hands over the keys. With his Super Cat Speed, Catboy manages to get the keys to the control room and avert a crash just in time.
The PJs and their pets leave the Flying Factory, which flies off into the night with Romeo and Robot chasing after it. Along with their pets, the PJs shout their victory cry.
