History

One Piece: Treasure Wars

After the Straw Hat Pirates had gained two of the Life Gems, Lytton discussed their progress with his subordinate Helsing. The two were satisfied that the plan was going well, and Helsing believed that she would be enough to handle the crew when it came time to claim the Life Gems. However, Lytton also wanted to see the crew for himself, and headed out.[1]

After Helsing was defeated on Xyli Island, Lytton had Cal introduce him to Cello, the king of Cream Mist, who immediately recognized him and became fearful. Lytton revealed that he had been manipulating Cello, and Cello realized that Cal had been working with Lytton all along. Lytton then ordered Cal to restrain Cello, which he did.[1]

Smoker Captures Lytton and Cal

After the Straw Hat Pirates arrived on Granu Island and found the fifth Life Gem, Lytton confronted them and demanded that they hand over all the Life Gems. When they refused, Lytton engaged them in battle, but was eventually defeated. Lytton and Cal were subsequently arrested by Smoker when Marine forces entered the mansion.[1]
