PERFECTHEART

Remember, children... You brought this upon yourselves!
— PERFECTHEART

PERFECTHEART is a character and optional enemy in OMORI. She was created by MEDUSA as an attempt to create a suitor for SWEETHEART, and can only be fought on ONE DAY LEFT of the OMORI ROUTE.

PROFILE

APPEARANCE

She greatly resembles SWEETHEART, but without her frilly dress and hair bow. Instead, she wears an overall dress. Outside of combat, her sprite glows.

PERSONALITY

In contrast to SWEETHEART, PERFECTHEART has a calm, mild personality. She lacks SWEETHEART's haughtiness and pride: she speaks politely with the player both inside and outside of the battle and after being beaten by the player, PERFECTHEART humbly accepts her defeat.

Like SWEETHEART, however, PERFECTHEART is confident - prior to battling the player, PERFECTHEART shows great faith in her fighting powers, giving the player multiple opportunities to avoid fighting her.

STORY

PERFECTHEART appears briefly during a cutscene while exploring HUMPHREY, towards the end of MEDUSA's lab. She is described by MEDUSA as the perfect version of SWEETHEART, but SWEETHEART still rejects her, claiming no-one can be more perfect than herself.

She can only be seen again during the OMORI ROUTE, where she can be found standing at the junction between the labs of the SLIME GIRLS, supervising SWEETHEART, who now goes by the name of SWEEPHEART. Speaking with her multiple times here will start her battle.

Upon defeating her, she is renamed to "IMPERFECTHEART", and she laments over her newfound flaw. Her white outline fades away as well, but causes OMORI to glow as a result. Her defeat will also grant the player the Minor Imperfection achievement.

Foe's Max HP - 1 (If HP is greater than 1)

Most skills, unless stated otherwise, have a 20% variance rate. This means they will do between 80% and 120% of their regular damage. However, the EXPLOIT EMOTION, SPARE, and ANGELIC VOICE skill have no variance and will never hit in the HEART.

Once her HP reaches 35%, PERFECTHEART will start her second phase by cleansing herself of any EMOTION stats, STAT debuffs, and fully restore her HP. In addition, she will always use ANGELIC WRATH from this point on.

*Only these skills will be used when being OBSERVED .

Every turn, each enemy will start by trying to use the skill listed at the top. If the calculation fails, they move on to the second skill and so on, until reaching the final skill which is guaranteed to activate. Each calculation is done independently from the previous ones, so the added percentage is not 100%.

**This skill will automatically be used all the time when PERFECTHEART is at 35% or less HEART, signifying the start of her second phase.

STRATEGY

PERFECTHEART serves as one of the game's superbosses, being among the most difficult. Her attacks are extremely damaging, especially during the second phase. During her first phase, she usually targets only one party member, by stealing some of their HEART, depleting all of their JUICE, or depleting all of their HEART to 1. She occasionally uses a skill that attacks all party members and makes them HAPPY while making herself SAD. Her HEART has to be mostly depleted before she restores it completely, removes any EMOTION inflicted on herself and moves onto her second phase. During her second phase, she only uses one skill, a laser that attacks all party members and inflicts a random emotion on each member.

It is recommended to have all characters be at least level 40 or higher to stand a chance against her, as she deals absurd amounts of damage. A good way to do this is to grind on the SEACOWFARM at the bottom of the ENDLESS HIGHWAY near the DEEP WELL, as there is a lot of SQUIZZARDs that can be farmed there. Farming LAB RAT and SPROUT MOLE?? inside HUMPHREY is also a good idea since they yield more XP per battle. Farming RABBIT?s and CHICKEN?s in DINO'S DIG during ONE DAY LEFT is highly recommended. To level up on this day, it is enough to defeat 3 RABBIT?s (or 2 ANGRY RABBIT?s). You can leave then re-enter a room briefly so the monsters can respawn.

Another decent strategy is to use a lot of full party healing snacks, such as WHOLE PIZZA or WHOLE CHICKEN, though it is a very costly one, as whole party foods are expensive (it is recommended to trade 10 TOFU for a full party healing item such as WHOLE PIZZA or WHOLE CHICKEN (16% chance each) with the TOFU CONCONNASISSEUR at the ORANGE OASIS). WHOLE PIZZA, WHOLE CHICKEN, and DINO CLUMPS, which are equivalent to WHOLE PIZZA, can be also found in DINO'S DIG. To boost snack healing HERO must be equipped with FRYING PAN or OL' RELIABLE.

At max level and using tentacle gear, assuming all SPEED stats are unaltered, KEL will always move before PERFECTHEART and HERO will always move after her. To defeat her in her second phase, a costly but effective method is to have KEL and HERO restore party health using WHOLE CHICKENs or other effective items, leaving OMORI and AUBREY to replenish their own JUICE and use multi-hit attacks and RELEASE ENERGY to whittle down her health. It is not recommended to inflict an emotion on PERFECTHEART during the second phase, since the attack she'll be spamming will always apply the emotion change before dealing damage, which will result unpredictable emotional advantages that can spell an instant death for anyone.

Another strategy is to equip OMORI with CRIPPLE, allowing him to reduce her speed, so she'll move after HERO. This will allow you to use healing items with any character you need to, instead of just KEL. This advice is actual only for Phase 1, since the healings during Phase 2 should be for the entire party, so any party member can use them between two PERFECTHEART's turns. In contrast, targeted healing during Phase 1 is possible and to do it a party member must have their turn before PERFECTHEART.

What's this? Are you challenging me to a fight?
Oh... You don't want to do that... Are you sure about this?

Oh... I see... I think it's fair to warn you that you might regret
this decision... So... I'll ask again...
Are you sure you want to challenge me?
PERFECTHEART
Are you really, really sure?
PERFECTHEART
... Alright, then... If that is what you wish. I won't be holding back.
Perfectheart (After Defeat)
IMPERFECTHEART
Hmmm... congratulations. You win. I suppose this means that I am no longer perfect. Such a shame, really.

TRIVIA

  • Out of all the SWEETHEART imitations, she is the only one to not disappear after being defeated, unlike MUTANTHEART and ROBOHEART.
  • After defeating PERFECTHEART, OMORI will briefly be engulfed in a golden aura as PERFECTHEART's glowing aura slowly fades away. This likely signifies that PERFECTHEART no longer considers herself "perfect" as she originally thought of herself as.
  • PERFECTHEART is one of the few enemies to use the same sprite for every emotion, with only the effects being different. Other known examples of this include LIFE JAM GUY and HUSHPUPPY.
  • PERFECTHEART is one of the strongest enemies in the game, having one of the highest HP stats and being able to nearly one shot any party member, no matter how much health they have.
  • PERFECTHEART is the only SWEETHEART clone to have an unique battle background, as opposed to ROBOHEART and MUTANTHEART using the same battle background from the HUMPHREY area.
  • In the game's data, PERFECTHEART and HEIGHTS are the only two enemies whose skills are with description.
    • STEAL HEART: Perfect Hearts beauty steals a targets heart.
    • STEAL BREATH: Perfect Hearts beauty steals a targets breath away.
    • SPARE: In all her mercy PERFECT HEART only uses a fraction of her strength.
    • ANGELIC VOICE: Perfect Hearts angelic voice blows all who hears it away.
  • PERFECTHEART shares the same battle background with MARI.
  • There is an oversight where the player can OBSERVE PERFECTHEART to skip her phase transition. If PERFECTHEART selected ANGELIC WRATH under the last OBSERVATION, she will always select this skill afterwards.
