Oh Hae-Won (Hangul: 오해원), better known as her stage name Haewon (Hangul: 해원) is a South Korean singer under JYP Entertainment. She is the leader and one of the main vocalists of the girl group NMIXX.

Career

Predebut

Oh Haewon was born in Incheon, South Korea on February 25, 2003. She has an older sister born in 1998.

She has been dreaming of becoming a singer since she was five, mostly because of her sister's influence who was also a K-Pop fan. Aside from that, in elementary school, she heard the song "Demons" by Imagine Dragons. Even though she didn't understand what the lyrics meant, she resonated to the song. She wished that she could give the same feeling to other people, and became sure that she wanted to become a singer.^[2]

She attended Incheon Nonhyeon High School, transferred to Doonchon High School and graduated from there.

She joined JYP Entertainment through the girl group audition in 2017.^[3] She sang Beyoncé's "Halo" on her audition and placed first place among more than 9000 participants.^[4]

Haewon has appeared in JYP Trainee Mini Showcase 2018 alongside Lily, Jinni, and Kyujin^[5], JYP Trainee Mini Showcase 2019 alongside Lily, Jinni, Bae, Jiwoo, and Kyujin^[6].

On November 4, 2021, Haewon was revealed as the sixth member of NMIXX through a cover of Stephanie Poetri's song "I Love You 3000."^[7] Her sweet yet powerful vocals caught the eyes of a lot of people and made her gain huge popularity.

2022-Present: Debut with NMIXX

The group officially debuted on February 22, 2022, with their first single album AD MARE.

Pets
