Items (Korean: 아이템, RR: aitem) are objects with dungeon-related origins that have magical effects attached. They are extremely varied in shape and nature.
Origin
Items most often originate directly inside dungeons. Some items simply appear physically, such as magic stones which are embedded within monsters, or dungeon byproducts like the plant life and other environmental features. They can also appear as system-granted rewards, such as dungeon clear rewards (granted for successfully completing a raid) and achievement rewards (granted for completing difficult or impossible tasks).[1] Items that appear in this way are more often wearable items or equipment; weapons are relatively rare, and high-rank weapons even rarer.[2]
Less rare is the option for items to be manually crafted. Hunters who work with equipment or other magical objects can train to manipulate Mana and magical materials, creating items imbued with special effects.[3][4]
Appearance and form
Items can take almost any inanimate form, and potentially even some animate forms if they are dungeon flora. They range in shape from stones (magic stones and Gate Stones) to weaponry (classic ones like the Parmini's Ice Wood Spear or more unique ones like the Refined Seeker's Chains) and even wearable items (like the Black Fairy's Earrings or the coat Sillekia's Wings).
Though items look like normal objects to the average eye, they are actually complex arrangements of Mana and physical materials, in a manner similar but much simpler than that of dungeons.[5]
Effects
Items are varied in their effects. They can increase one's own stats, or the strength of specific types of skills. Some rare items come with their own attached skills; weapons tend towards having attack skills, and other wearables such as armor tend towards support or defensive skills.
The effect of items is not limited to Awakened people—even Unawakened people can use them.[2]
