Picture Segment Description

SCENE 1 As Maria greets the viewer, she becomes distracted by the sounds of Oscar laughing. He's revisiting his first grade reader book and recites some of it. The book opens with dialogue matching the Dick and Jane book that Maria read from in first grade. However, Oscar's book casts Dick and Jane as Grouches, and Spot is a pig. He reads some more, picturing himself and Grundgetta as Dick and Jane, along with Oscar's pet pig Spot who doesn't follow any of their commands.
