Picture Segment Description

SCENE 1 Big Bird listens to Maria fielding a phone call at the Fix-it Shop in Spanish, marveling at how well she's able to do it. She lists the benefits of being bilingual, as she can talk to more people and read different kinds of books. Big Bird goes on to Hooper's Store for some birdseed and finds Mr. Hooper taking an order over the phone from Ms. Cezarro. He's speaking in another language as well - in this case, Yiddish, which his parents taught him when he was young. Big Bird feels a little left out when he steps outside in the yard, where Herry converses with his monster pal in their own monster language about a big rock contest.
SCENE 1 cont'd Big Bird encounters Chirpley and his bird associate whistling at each other near the construction doors, and joins in their conversation with some tweeting. Big Bird translates the conversation for the viewer, only to realize that he can speak "bird-ese," making him bilingual as well!

David interprets that she's asking for a telescope, an umbrella, a muffler, and a rubber duckie to take a bath with. Maria slaps her head in frustration.

Many, many items have piled up as David guesses Maria is asking for a shovel and pail, a live skunk, and a boat. David says he needs a break from 86 years of guessing, and drinks a glass of water. Maria goes crazy over the beverage, so David offers her some. Maria refreshed, David asks to continue guessing what agua means.

Muppets Kermit at Home: Grover is outside in the snow, freezing. He keeps knocking on Kermit's door, asking how to get warm, and Kermit keeps telling him to come inside. Grover, missing the point, tries ideas of his own to get warm, but they don't work. Finally, Kermit tells Grover that if he wants to get warm, he should come inside. Excited, Grover pulls Kermit aside and slams the door, locking Kermit outside. Grover goes to sleep in Kermit's armchair while the frozen frog scrapes at the window.

She lists all the benefits of milk and offers her wares from her pushcart, but Maria doesn’t need any at the moment. Gladys isn't deterred, and is sure she'll find a customer.

Gladys doesn't understand, so he explains the process of milk coming from the cows to the containers to his store. Slightly discouraged, Gladys decides to go elsewhere hoping to be a success.

He begins to buy each container individually, not for the purpose of drinking them but to count them all!
