Capory

Capory was a planet located in the galaxy's Beta Quadrant, in orbit of the Beta Hydri star system. By the 23rd century, Capory was an underdeveloped world, in or near the space of the Federation.

Background

Capory supported lifeforms that included a wide variety of mold and fungus, which covered much of the world's surface. The valuable mold Esio Telga was found here.

The frontier planet also supported a variety of aggressive animal life.

History

In 2156, Capory was the home of only 2000 settlers when the Romulans invaded the planet. Gannet Brooks described the scenes from Capory as something that would give Hieronymus Bosch nightmares. (ENT novel: Beneath the Raptor's Wing)

In the 2260s, the starship USS Enterprise visited this world some time prior to the ship's visit to planet Anomaly. Leonard McCoy took shore leave, and ended up getting robbed and stabbed by a fellow patron near the Last Chance/First Chance tavern.

In 2269, McCoy was subjected to two illusory scenarios in which he relived experiences of interest to the Arivne of the planet Anomaly. The first was facing his divorce, and the second was his visit to Capory. (TOS novel: Planet of Judgment)
