Veletus V was a planet located in the space of the galaxy's Beta Quadrant, the fifth planet in orbit of the Veletus star system. Veletus V was a gas giant planet five moons. Thousands of years prior to the 23rd century, a Tholian sectarian war was fought in the Veletus system, near Veletus V. Billions of Tholians were killed, and the high-energy plasma which constituted their life energy was released within the gravitational well of Veletus V and its moons. This plasma coalesced to form what became known as the Ifukube Veil.
In 2266, Starfleet began construction of a space station proximate to Veletus V, designated Deep Space Station M-33. (TOS - Constellations short story: "Fracture")
