Kabatoncue

"This is one hungry hippo! And Mega Man is on the menu!"
Mega Man 4 USA package back

Kabatoncue (カバトンキュー Kabatonkyū) is a hippo mid-boss enemy which appears in Mega Man 4 and Mega Man IV. It is based on the children's game, Daruma Otoshi. Kabatoncue shoots homing missiles from its mouth as its method of attack. It can only be damaged by shooting the platform columns until it is low enough to be shot directly or using homing/aiming weapons.

Appearances

Mega Man 4

In Mega Man 4, two Kabatoncues appear in Ring Man's stage. Common strategies include using the Flash Stopper while attacking with the Mega Buster or using the Rain Flush to remain a safe distance while dealing damage. While Kabatoncue is immune to Flash Stopper, its missiles will freeze. Another option is using the Pharaoh Shot due to its ability to be directional, however, as this weapon is Ring Man's weakness, it is generally better to conserve this weapon as much as possible.
