Justin Gerard is an American painter whose primary inspirations in fantasy are J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth and C.S. Lewis' world of Narnia.

Gerard has illustrated many individuals and moment from Tolkien's The Hobbit and The Silmarillion, such as Smaug, Lúthien, the Nírnaeth Arnoediad, Glorfindel and his duel with a Balrog, Morgoth after stealing the Silmarils, and the encounter with the Great Goblin in Goblin-town. He also makes illustrations of fantasy beings unrelated to Middle-earth.

Some of his art is used in the 2021 mobile game The Lord of the Rings: Rise to War.[1]

Along with Donato Giancola, Kip Rasmussen, Jenny Dolfen, and others, some of Gerard's pieces are featured in Tolkien Calendar 2023 introduced by Ted Nasmith.

He lives in Georgia, and runs Gallery Gerard with his wife Annie, who also paints.[2]
