Michael Hague (born September 8, 1948 in Los Angeles, USA[1]) is an illustrator known for his work in publications of Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, The Wind in the Willows, and short children's books such as The Velveteen Rabbit. He has illustrated books since 1976.
J.R.R. Tolkien's fantasy greatly impacted Hague's artistry[2], and Hague provided art for two Houghton Mifflin publications of The Hobbit (1984 and 1989). Seven of his Middle-earth illustrations are featured in Tolkien's World: Paintings of Middle-earth (1992).
