"Where did Waddles get superpowers?"
(groans) "Uh, guys... I don't feel so super..."
(sighs) "Never mind."
Ace and Streaky.
When Penguins Fly is the forty-ninth episode of Krypto the Superdog.
Summary
Chaos ensues when Waddles, the Penguin's penguin, steals Streaky's superpowers.
Plot
Artie, Griff and Waddles are sneaking into the S.T.A.R. Labs, fleeing Krypto, Ace, and Streaky. The flightless Waddles struggles to keep up with his teammates but then overhears a scientist discussing her new power switcher machine. Upon seeing that the device can transfer the abilities from one animal to another, Waddles decides to make use of it. He is soon given the perfect opportunity when Streaky, who has split from Ace and Krypto in their search for the birds, climbs into one of the power switcher cages to grab a piece of cheese.
Waddles successfully transfers Streaky's powers to himself, and traps Streaky in a cabinet. Krypto and Ace manage to capture the other birds but Waddles then arrives and subdues Ace using his powers. Krypto is forced to assist the Bat-Hound, leaving Waddles to escape with his teammates. Waddles soon sets out on a crime spree, and his powers make it so that Ace and even Krypto are unable to stop them.
Streaky is eager to get back into action, but his powers refuse to return on their own. Ace and Krypto began brainstorming some means of regaining Streaky's powers for him and hit upon a scheme after seeing an ad for a fancy birdcage at the Metropolis Pet Superstore. As they anticipate, Waddles steals the cage, unaware that Krypto and Ace have secretly substituted one of the power switcher cages for the birdcage. They quickly restore Streaky's powers to their proper place, and the three birds are then trapped in the cage.

Trivia
- This is Lois Lane's first appearance in this episode.
- This episode is written by Joseph Kuhr.
- This episode marks the first time Krypto, Streaky and Ace all starred and actually fought together in the same episode. Streaky had a speaking cameo in "Bat Hound for a Day" and Krypto had a speaking cameo in the "The Cat and the Bat", of which Streaky had a starring role in, but this is the first time when Krypto, Ace and Streaky were all given a starring role.
- The plot of this episode is very similar to the plot of "Bat Hound for a Day" which introduced the Penguin's birds. In that episode, Krypto loses his powers due to Red Kryptonite. In this episode, Streaky loses his powers, but due to a power switcher instead of Red Kryptonite.
- This is the first time we get an honest feeling for how powerful Streaky can really be when he's properly motivated (and the most aggressive Streaky has been in the series since his origin episode, "The Streaky Story"). In addition to the uses Waddles got out of the powers while he had them, there was Streaky's payback at the end. Not only did he use his super-breath to blow the cage right into Waddles, but he also catches Artie and Griff in arm-spin-generated vacuum winds before he literally lifts up the cage and spins it around.
