Moon Sua (문수아) is a South Korean rapper, singer, MC and lyricist under MYSTIC STORY. She is a member of the girl group Billlie and one half of its sub-unit Moon Sua X Siyoon.
Career
2015: Unpretty Rapstar 2
In 2015, she appeared as a contestant on the competition show Unpretty Rapstar 2. She made it to the final round, ending the show as third runner-up.[2]
In 2016, YG Entertainment announced plans to debut a new girl group (now BLACKPINK). While Sua was a likely candidate for the group's lineup, she was never officially included.[3][4]
2019–2021: Departure from YG, debut with Billlie
On April 5, 2019, it was reported that she left YG Entertainment after nearly ten years.[5]
She was officially revealed as a trainee under MYSTIC Rookies on February 19, 2020.[6]
She was later announced as a member of MYSTIC STORY's upcoming girl group Billlie. The group debuted on November 10, 2021 with their first mini album The Billage of Perception : Chapter One.
2022: Second World
On August 8, 2022, Moon Sua was revealed as a contestant on the JTBC all-female competition program The Second World, which aimed to break the prejudice that idol rappers lack singing abilities.[7] The show premiered on August 30. She ranked #5 during the show's final episode on November 8, 2022.
2023: Show Champion
On January 26, 2023, it was announced that Sua, along with Tsuki and WOOAH's Nana, would become the new MCs for MBC's music program Show Champion. Their first broadcast as MCs will take place on February 6.[8]

Personal life
Passing of brother
On April 19, 2023, Moon Sua's older brother, Moonbin, was found dead in his residence in the Gangnam district of Seoul by his manager. Fantagio chose not to share the exact cause of death.[9]
On April 24, MYSTIC STORY announced that following the passing of her brother, Sua would enter a hiatus period for Billlie's immediate future activities, beginning with promotions for their first Japanese single.[10][11]
On June 12, it was announced that Moon Sua will resume her activities, starting with this week’s “Show Champion” live broadcast.[12]
Health
On September 12, 2023, MYSTIC STORY released a statement stating that Moon Sua would be taking a break from activities due to health concerns.[13]
On April 12, 2024, it was announced that Moon Sua and Suhyeon would be returning from their hiatus.[14]
