Hani (하니) is a South Korean singer and actress under SUBLIME. She is a member of the girl group EXID and its sub-unit SoljiHani. She is also a former member of the fictional project girl group Cotton Candy under the name Jenna (제나).
Career
2012: Debut with EXID
She debuted as a member of EXID on February 16, 2012 with the group's first digital single "Holla".
2019: Departure from Banana Culture
On May 2, Banana Culture released a statement, revealing that the EXID's members contracts would expire at the end of May, adding that Jeonghwa and Hani decided not to renew them. It was also reported that despite not continuing with the company, the group would not disband, but would enter in a hiatus until the members who left had the opportunity to have their own individual careers.[2] The group made a comeback on May 15, with the mini album We.
On May 30, Jeonghwa and Hani published a letter each to fans, confirming their departure from the company after the end of the "Me & You" promotions.[3]
On October 11, it was confirmed that Hani signed with Sublime Artist Agency for an exclusive contract.[4]
Personal life
Relationship
On January 1, 2016, local news source Dispatch reported that Hani and JYJ's Xiah Junsu were dating. Later that day, the report was confirmed by C-JeS Entertainment.[5]
On September 13, 2016, it was revealed the couple had broken up due to busy schedules.[6]
On June 29, 2022, it was reported by WIKITREE that Hani had been in a relationship with psychiatrist and entertainer Yang Jae Woong. It was later confirmed by SUBLIME in an official statement.[7]
On May 31, 2024, it was reported that the couple would be getting married in September. SUBLIME responded that it is hard to confirm as it is the actress's private life.[8] The next day, Hani personally announced through her Instagram that she will be getting married.[9] On September 3, it was announced that their marriage ceremony would be delayed after it was originally planned for this month.[10]
