Ha Sung Woon (하성운; or simply Sungwoon) is a South Korean singer-songwriter and musical actor under BPM Entertainment. He is a former member of the boy group HOTSHOT and the project boy group Wanna One.
He is known for entering Produce 101 Season 2 with fellow member Roh Tae Hyun (Kid Monster) and finishing 11th, becoming a member of Wanna One.
Following the conclusion of his Wanna One activities, he made his solo debut on February 28, 2019 with the mini album My Moment.[1][2]
Career
2014: Debut with HOTSHOT
He made his debut as a member of HOTSHOT with the release of the digital single "Take a Shot" on October 29, 2014.
2017-2019: Produce 101 Season 2, Wanna One, solo debut
Sungwoon participated in Mnet's reality survival show Produce 101 between April and June 2017. He finished in 11th place in the finale, thus debuting as a member of Wanna One.
Wanna One officially debuted on August 7, 2017 with their first mini album 1X1=1 (To Be One).
All of Wanna One's activities came to an end as their contracts expired on December 31, 2018. The group officially disbanded on January 27, 2019, following the end of the last day of their final concert Therefore.[3]
He made his solo debut on February 28, 2019 with the mini album My Moment.
2021: Departure from Star Crew, new agency
On November 2, 2021, both he and Star Crew Entertainment announced that his exclusive 7-year contract with them expired on October 31 and he decided not to renew. He released one final album under the agency, Electrified : Urban Nostalgia on November 19.[4]
On December 24, it was announced that Sungwoon has signed an exclusive contract with BPM Entertainment.[5]
2022: Strange World
On August 10, 2022, Ha Sung Woon revealed the first teaser for his seventh mini album Strange World, which will be released on August 24.[6]
2023: "Snowy Stars"
On February 1, 2023, a coming soon teaser was posted on his SNS accounts which revealed that he will be releasing his fifth digital single, "Snowy Stars", on February 8.[7]
2024: Blessed
On June 13, 2024, SPOTV News reported that Ha Sung Woon will be making his first comeback since his military discharge in July with a mini album.[8] On June 24, a teaser was posted for his eighth mini album, Blessed, which will be released on July 17.[9]
Personal life
Education
He went on to Division of Entertainment in Broadcasting, major in K-Pop Performance and graduated from Dong-ah Institute of Media and Arts in February 2019.[10]
Military service
On August 18, 2022, BPM Entertainment announced that Ha Sung Woon would enlist quietly on September 5 as an active duty soldier.[11] However, on September 2, three days before his enlistment, BPM Entertainment announced that Ha Sung Woon had tested positive for COVID-19. His enlistment would be pushed back to a later date and as a result, his military discharge would be postponed accordingly.[12]
On October 7, 2022, Ha Sung Woon revealed he had rescheduled his military enlistment and would begin his service on October 24.[13] He was discharged on April 23, 2024.[14]

- He is close with BTS's Jimin, EXO's Kai, SHINee's Taemin and VIXX's Ravi as they play pool together.
- This was more evident when after the finale of Produce 101 Season 2, Jimin posted a picture of him texting Sungwoon congratulating him while complaining he couldn't vote in Japan even though he was Korean. Ravi also congratulated him by posting a video of him doing his acceptance speech.
- He originally auditioned for JYP Entertainment in 2010.
