HKT48 (short for HaKaTa48) is a Japanese all-female idol group based in Hakata, Fukuoka, where they have their own theater in E • ZO Fukuoka. Established in 2011, they are the fourth group of the AKB48 Group, and the third Japan-based sister group of AKB48. HKT48 is produced by Akimoto Yasushi and signed under Universal Music Japan. Currently the group consists of two teams: Team H and Team KIV. In addition, the group also has trainees called Kenkyuusei.
They made their major debut with their first single, Suki! Suki! Skip!, on March 20, 2013.
Some notable members of HKT48 include Miyawaki Sakura and Yabuki Nako, both who are former members of the group.
