BNK48 (in short for Bangkok48) is a Thai Idol Group and the 2nd international sister group of AKB48, after Indonesia's JKT48. The group has their own theater in The Mall Bangkapi, on Bangkok, Thailand. BNK48's logo features the orchid color (bright rich purple color) a popular flower in Thailand.
History
- On March 26, the planned project for the formation of MNL48, BNK48, and TPE48 was announced during the 2016 AKB48 Single Concert at the Kanagawa Yokohama Stadium.
- On September 23, the selection result was announced. 80 selected applicants were luckily proceed to the final round.
- On October 13, due to the death of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the final selection for the 1st Generation members were postponed until December 18.

- On February 12, the group announced their official 1st Generation members, debuting 29 original members. They were first appreared on Japan Expo 2017 in Bangkok, Thailand.
- On April 13, AKB48 Team 4 member Izuta Rina announced that she will transferred to BNK48 as Team Kaigai member.

- On August 31, members Jan, Kaew, Namneung, and Orn were been demoted to Undergirls due to their punishment for truancy. Therefore, the four members were replaced by Izurina, Jane, Mobile, and Pupe for the upcoming event of Japan Expo 2017 in Thailand, scheduled for September 1 & 3, 2017.
- On September 23, the group had a mini concert entitled "BNK48 WE LOVE YOU". Also on the same day, Kidkat graduated from the group, and they announced their upcoming 2nd single released. This is the first time to include Izurina on the 2nd single Senbatsu.
- On November 18, the group premiered their 2nd single music video Koi Suru Fortune Cookie. Also, Cincin graduated from the group.

- On December 20, the group released their 2nd single Koi Suru Fortune Cookie (คุกกี้เสี่ยงทาย), centered by Mobile. And also, this is Izurina's 1st Senbatsu and Jan's last Senbatsu.
- On December 24, during the event of BNK48 We Wish You! A Merry Christmas –Fan Meet–, the general manager of the group announced that the Team BIII will formed. The selected captain and vice-captain of the team are Pun and Jennis. Also, the line-up of the upcoming 3rd single announced, and the centers are Music and 1st time center Noey.
- On February 12, Namhom graduated from the group.
- On February 26, the 3rd single coupling song music video Anata to Christmas Eve (คำสัญญาแห่งคริสต์มาสอีฟ) was released on their official YouTube channel.
- On February 28, 2 days after the release of the coupling song music video, Jan announced her graduation. Also, the group was selected as the official Thailand national football team supporters.
- On March 31, the group announced their 1st album entitled RIVER. The Senbatsu line-up was announced from Tao Kae Noi Presents BNK48 1st Concert "STARTO".
- On April 10, the group premiered their 3rd single music video Shonichi (วันแรก).
- On April 26, their theater unveiled to the public, located in The Mall Bangkapi. Also, the theater has a cafe and shop.
- On April 29, the 2nd Generation members announced in public.

- On May 7, the group released their 3rd single Shonichi (วันแรก).
- On May 11, the Shonichi stage of Team BIII 1st Stage has started, entitled PARTY ga Hajimaru yo (ปาร์ตี้ในฝัน), a revival from AKB48's Team A 1st Stage.
- On May 29, the voting line for upcoming AKB48 53rd Single Sekai Senbatsu Sousenkyo was now opened to public. This is the first general election of AKB48 to include their overseas sister group.
- On June 16, AKB48 held their 10th General Election event at Nagoya Dome. This is the first time to include the overseas sister groups JKT48, BNK48 and TPE48. On the day of general election, JKT48 members didn't participated on the said event due to Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr holiday in Indonesia. Also, the trainees from TPE48 didn't participated. Out of 100 ranked members on 10th General election, members Cherprang (ranked #39) and Music (ranked #72) from Team BIII were luckily part of the upcoming 53rd single release.
- On August 26, AKB48 released their 53rd single coupling music videos Tomodachi ja nai ka? and Hitonatsu no Dekigoto (short version only), where Cherprang and Music were included on a video that recently ranked #39 and #72 respectively. Also, Can graduated from the group.
- On September 15, the group premiered their 4th single music video Kimi wa Melody on their official YouTube channel, centered by Noey.

- On September 28, the group released their 4th single Kimi wa Melody (เธอคือ..เมโลดี้). Also, this is their first single to include the 2nd Generation members.
- On October 21, Meysa graduated from the group.

- On December 14, the group released their 5th single BNK Festival with Pun as the center.

- On June 2, the group announced their first sister group CGM48 in "Thank You & the Beginner at Chiang Mai" event, as well as AKB48's new international sister group that will based in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
- On June 10, two members Aom and Izurina announced that they will transfer to CGM48, to hold the group as their group's captain and general manager (Shihainin).
- On August 11, Deenee graduated from the group.
- On August 28, the group released their 2nd album Jabaja.
- On September 27, Cake graduated from the group.
- On October 19, the group announced their line-up for their upcoming 7th single release (the line-up is based from a members who were born from year 2001 onward), and their center is Cherprang, where she ranked first on their 1st General Election last January 26. Also, the title for their 7th single is based from Team 8's song 47 no Suteki na Machi e.

- On October 30, the group released their 7th single music video 77 no Suteki na Machi e, together with their digital single, in line for the promotion of their 7th single release.
- On November 16, the formation of Team NV was unveiled to public. The 2nd team was formed with 20 selected members from Trainees and some Team BIII members who were transferred to a new team.
- On December 7, Maira graduated from the group.
- On December 12, the group announced their upcoming 2nd General Election, which will be held on March 22, 2020. Also, this is the first time for CGM48 to participate on the said election event.
- On December 21, CGM48 performed for the first time in the event of 77 no Suteki na Machi e Road Show in Chiang Mai. Also, the group announced their line-up for their upcoming debut single Chiang Mai 106, originally from NGT48's Max Toki 315-go. The center for the upcoming debut single is Sita.
- On January 15, the group released their 8th single coupling music video Dode Di Dong, centered by Namneung. This is an official soundtrack from Thibaan x BNK48 Jaak Jai Poo Sao Kon Nee (ไทบ้าน x BNK48 จากใจผู้สาวคนนี้).
- On February 2, the group released their 8th single High Tension. This single has a voting ballots for the upcoming 9th Single Senbatsu General Election.
- On February 8, the Trainee 1st stage has ended.
- On March 22, the group made an announcement that the final results of their 2nd General Election would be postponed due to COVID-19 Pandemic.
- On March 25, Nink graduated from the group.
- On April 19, the final results of their 2nd General Election was revealed through online. Jane hailed as their center girl for the upcoming 9th single release. Also, this is the first time to have a CGM48 members whose rank within top 48 spots.
- On July 26, the group premiered their 9th single music video Heavy Rotation on their YouTube channel, centered by Jane, recently ranked #1 from 2nd General Election and she's the one who picked the single.
- On August 9, the Shonichi of Team BIII 2nd Stage has started, entitled Saishuu Bell ga Naru (เสียงระฆังแห่งความฝัน), a revival stage from AKB48's Team K 4th Stage. On the same day, the Team NV 1st Stage has also started, entitled Theater no Megami (เทพธิดาเธียเตอร์), revival from Team B 5th Stage. Also, they announced their 3rd Generation members.

- On August 21, the group premiered their 9th single coupling music video Hashire! Penguin (วิ่งไปสิ...เพนกวิน), centered by Kaimook (ranked #17 from 2nd General Election). This is the second time to appeared the Undergirls unit from the upcoming 9th single release.
- On October 5, the group released their 9th single Heavy Rotation.
- On November 29, the group announced their upcoming 3rd album title track Warota People, originally from NMB48's 17th single. The Senbatsu and Center for the upcoming 3rd album is based from the winners of Janken Tournament 2020.
- On December 4, Kheng graduated from the group.
- On December 23, Fifa graduated from the group.

- On January 8, the group premiered their 3rd album music video Warota People.
- On January 9, a day after the music video was released on their official YouTube channel, their 3rd album was released.
- On March 13, the group made an announcement for the upcoming 10th single release. The title for their 10th single is D.AAA, centered by Mobile. Their 1st coupling song is Sukida Sukida Sukida, a coupling song from AKB48's 56th single Sustainable by Team 8, centered by Music. And, their 2nd coupling song is Only Today, from a B-side song of AKB48's 4th single BINGO!. Their 2nd coupling song had two types: Band Version and Acapella Version.

- On May 24, the group released their 10th single D.AAA. This is their first original single.
- On June 2, the group released their 10th single music video D.AAA on their YouTube channel. Also, Juné graduated from the group.
- On October 1, Mewnich graduated from the group. Also, the management announced that Mind and View were been suspended for a month due to lack of training which didn't meet their standards.
- On October 5, Pancake was suspended by the management for one month due to her violations in dormitory and company's rules. Also, her SNS accounts were been suspended until November 5, 2021.
- On December 19, the group made an announcement for their upcoming 3rd General Election, which will be held on April 9, 2022.
- Their centers were based from the four different generations (3 from this group and 1 from CGM48).
- On January 28, the group announced the upcoming 3rd Generation debut; and they will debut on February 7 at Central World. Their debut song is First Rabbit, originally from AKB48's fourth album.
- On February 7, the group released the full MV of First Rabbit on their YouTube Channel. In addition, this is the debut of 3rd Generation Members, and centered by Hoop and Paeyah.
- This was later included in the upcoming 11th Single release.
- On February 8, the group released their audio/digital version of First Rabbit on their online streaming devices.
- On February 14, Valentines Day, the group released the dance version of First Rabbit on their YouTube Channel.

- On March 18 & 19, the group released their two teaser versions of Sayonara Crawl MV on their YouTube channel.

- On April 11, the group released the special performance video from 3rd Senbatsu Sousenkyou on their YouTube Channel. The performance is a special medley versions of D.AAA, Mali, and Shonichi.
- On May 1, the group released their full 11th Single in physical and in online streaming devices.
- On May 14, the group announced their upcoming 12th Single Next Girls' song on their YouTube Channel. Their 2nd coupling song is Kinou Yori Motto Suki (ชอบเธอมากกว่าเมื่อวาน), originally a coupling song from AKB48's 35th Single and performed by Smiling Lions.

- Jiwaru DAYS is the main song of their first special single, and their coupling songs are Pioneer and Sakura no Ki ni Narou (ดั่งซากุระ ตลอดไป).

- On December 28, the group announced the upcoming 13th single release, stated as The New Era of BNK48, after the 19 members from 1st Generation were graduated from the group. First coupling song announced in public for the debut of the 4th Generation Members, entitled Shoujotachi yo (วันใหม่). And their main song is Iiwake Maybe, originally from AKB48's 13th single, and centered by Pancake.
- On February 4, the group released their audio/digital version of Shoujotachi yo on their online streaming devices.

- On February 25, the group released their teaser MV of Iiwake Maybe on their YouTube Channel.
- On April 9, the group held their second Janken Tournament. BNK48 Captain and General Manager Cherprang made her graduation announcement after the event. She also announced the Senbatsu members for the 14th Single which will serve as her graduation single.

- On July 17, the group released their 14th Single in physical and in online streaming devices.

- On August 6, during the concert BNK48 vs CGM48 Concert "The Battle of Idols", the group announced their upcoming 4th album title track Gingham Check, originally from AKB48's 27th single. The first performance for this song was shown after the song announcement. The Senbatsu and Center for the upcoming 4th album is based from the winners of Janken Tournament 2023.

- On September 17, the group announced their upcoming 15th and 16th Single during the Gingham Check 2-Shot Event in Union Hall.
- For 15th Single, the main song is from AKB48's 38th Single, entitled Kibouteki Refrain (แค่นี้ก็พอใจแล้ว). Their Centers are Hoop of Team BIII and Kaning of Team C.
- In addition, the coupling songs are announced during the said event.
- GIVE ME FIVE! is an A-side song from AKB48's 25th Single.
- Must be now is an A-side song from NMB48's 13th Single.
- This is their first single with all the three (3) covered songs which are originally the A-side songs from Japanese 48G.

- For 16th Single, the main song would be an another original song. This time, the song will be produced by the JYP Entertainment Corporation, and will be released on 2024.

- On June 2, the group announced their upcoming 17th Single during the BNK48 7th Anniversary at Paradise Park. First coupling song announced in public is the remake version of 2017 release 365-nichi no Kamihikouki (365 วันกับเครื่องบินกระดาษ). And their main song entitled Kokkyou no Nai Jidai, originally a coupling song from AKB48's 51st single Jabaja, and centered by L.
- Kokkyou no Nai Jidai is also the first BNK48 single since 77 no Suteki na Machi e (in October 2019) to use a coupling song from any Japanese AKB48 Group as their main song.
- Later on June 19, Cherprang (BNK48's general manager) revealed in "Voices of BNK48 Showcase" Special Live that the song will have an official title in English as BORDERLESS.

- On July 2, the group announced another coupling song of their 17th single, which will be the 5th Generation's debut song. Their debut song is Mirai to wa?, originally an A-side from SKE48's 14th single. This is also the first SKE48's song to be covered by BNK48.
