WARNING! |
John Nash (존 내쉬) is a Villain and a member of the Nameless as he typically acts as the muscle for the villainous group. He was once a test subject and survivor of the horrific Project Newborn, where he met Vector during the former hero's days as a researcher. Years after the Great War's end, he and Vector joined the Nameless, a gathering of villains and survivors of the war, led by Engen, the Smiling Man but his exact goals are unknown.
John was introduced in the District 17 Assault Arc, where he and the Nameless helped save Hero Killer after she was nearly killed by the heroes and announced their return to the public by attacking the Hero Clan.
Appearance
John is an extremely tall, muscular, menacing man, towering over all of the other members of the Nameless. He has thick eyebrows and a vertical stitch scar going from the top of his head all the way down to his chin. He also has dark grey eyes with silver irises and appears to wear an unusual chin strap that presumably hangs on his ears. He has never been seen wearing anything else besides his one cloth set, which includes a dark gray trench coat with a tint of brown.
Personality
John has a rather dull, yet impatient attitude. He is a quiet man who doesn't seem to like long conversations, hinting that he is an introvert. Like Ihwa in her early days, he has little to no empathy and will kill without hesitation. Despite his menacing figure, he follows Engen's orders without complaint but doesn't show any fear of him.
He has amicable relationships with Rachel, Vector, Baek-Ji, and later Ihwa but seems to have developed a rivalry of sorts with Bagna the very moment they met. However aside from his near silence, John does have emotions having expressed frustration at his inability to grow like the rest of the Nameless and feelings of weakness in the face of the increasingly strong enemies that appeared.
History
John Nash’s early life remains largely unknown, but he is believed to have been born near the end of Era of Nera, based on his age. At some point, he was abducted and subjected to the gruesome experiments of Project Newborn, a research initiative aimed at transforming regular humans into Gift Users. Alongside dozens of other test subjects, John endured extreme procedures designed to enhance his body, though most did not survive.
As the Great War ended and the Age of Heroes and Villains began, very few test subjects remained. Among the rare successes was a boy known as "AK14",[1] John himself, and a young boy named Zaran.[2]
During Vector’s desperate escape from the facility, he activated his Gift, randomly opening rifts across the world. An unconscious John, still submerged in a tank, was swept into one of these portals. The rift transported them to a snowy wasteland where they encountered the infamous Engen the Smiling Man, the former leader of Nera’s Villains.[3]
While Vector offered his services in exchange for the chance to witness and participate in Engen's plans which he agreed to, it's unknown on what John did exactly after their escape but he decided to become a Villain and joined the Nameless, a group of survivors from the war and a new generation of villains, alongside Vector.
During this time, John met Rachel Sinclair, Engen's first recruit and the daughter of the Mad Elder Reagan Sinclair. He also became acquainted with Baek-Ji, a young Gift User who harbored a deep vendetta against the Hero Clan's leader.

During the Nameless' fight with the mercenary Farza, John arrives with Baek-Ji to assist their villainous comrades in fighting the Demon Mask swordsman. John punches Farza sending the swordsman flying through the air with Baek-Ji apologizing for their lateness as she crushes him into the ground Farza, however, seemingly cuts her body, but Baek-Ji turns into a bat and flies away to greet Ihwa.
John continues fighting Farza with Bagna but the mercenary withstands their respective attack, Hero Killer suddenly appears behind the merc and stabs him through the back with Chain while proclaiming that this is the power of the Linked Attack! (actually, meaning that she ganged up on him).[4]
An injured Farza attacks Ihwa but is instead further wounded by Chain who tries to finish him off but only manages to land a shallow cut on him. Farza, heavily wounded, unleashes a bloodcurdling roar at the villains and Baek-Ji questions how he still has so much energy left seeing it as annoying. Farza then retreats and disappears. Bagna asks if he should chase him with Baek-Ji agrees but then Chain suddenly starts talking about Fraza's sword the Demonic Sword, Ashiyak.
The former CEO explains that although it harnesses an incredible amount of power the owner of the sword must kill someone after drawing it. Otherwise, the cursed Shard will kill its wielder instead and if they left him alone someone might come to possess it but quickly remembers that he is surrounded by Villains.
As Chain leaves to watch over both Nenya and Pudding, Engen arrives shortly after Baek-Ji's recharges from Vector's blood.
