History
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Viktor Krum attended Durmstrang, a wizarding school notorious for teaching the Dark Arts, and was one of the school's most popular students. He was chosen as the Durmstrang champion when he participated in the Triwizard Tournament. He placed second place behind Harry Potter and Cedric Diggory. He danced with Hermione at the Yule Ball, making Ron jealous both because he admired Krum and because he was starting to have feelings for Hermione. During the last task in the maze, Krum was bewitched by Mad-Eye Moody (who was Barty Crouch Jr.) so that Harry could win the trophy.
He was very sad when Cedric died and told Harry and his friends that he always liked Cedric because the latter was always polite to him. Before leaving, Krum gives what appears to be a piece of paper with his address to Hermione so that she can write to him.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1
Krum is present at Bill Weasley and Fleur's wedding at the Burrow but only appears in a deleted scene. At the party, he finds Hermione with whom he dances, frustrating Ron a second time.
