~ Seyka's ominous warning about the scattered nature of the Quen. |
Seyka is the deuteragonist of Horizon Forbidden West's DLC expansion Burning Shores.
Seyka is a member of a Quen detachment led by its admiral Gerrit, who became stranded in the volcanic ruins of Los Angeles following their troubled expedition to the ruins of San Francisco. Fearing that her fellow Quen have been lost and scattered during the disastrous expedition, Seyka later encounters the Nora huntress Aloy and teams up with her on her journey across Los Angeles ruins to deal with a sinister, highly dangerous threat in the form of Walter Londra and his Horus, while looking for the rest of her Quen who disappeared.
She is portrayed by Kylie Lia Page.
Appearance
Seyka is a female Quen with Far Eastern features, who is presumably in her early-20s to mid-20s. She has brown eyes and a brown hair tied in a large ponytail with a custom-made hair tie. She wears the usual Quen Marine uniform, as well as an outdated Focus on her right temple. Her weapon is a sword.
Personality
Seyka and Aloy are quite similar. She is self-reliant, independent, and kind. Seyka is a competent and trained warrior who is willing to risk her life to protect her tribe and the people she cares about. Even while she often acts in the best interests of her tribe, this frequently puts her at odds with many of them, who view and consider her as an outcast, much like Aloy was by the Nora.
Compared to many of her people, Seyka is more practical. Seyka recognised Londra for who he truly is and didn't fall for any of his trickery when he was using his influence over any of her tribe. She has a deep love for her sister Kina and would do anything to protect her.
Seyka initially dislikes flying due to her occupation as a marine. However, she is compelled to pilot a Waterwing to support Aloy in order to halt Londra's Horus, where she discovers a talent for flight.
History
The Quen chosen for the Eastern Expedition to San Francisco included Seyka and her younger sister Kina. The fleet broke in two during the journey, with Seyka's portion ending up stranded in the Burning Shores/L.A. ruins with no idea of what happened to the others. In a moment of need, Seyka stepped up to serve her people and accepted the task, earning the respect of her Admiral, Gerrit.
Seyka invited her to meet her where they originally met, right after she and Aloy beat Londra and his Horus. Seyka announced that she would stay at Admiral Gerrit's side to aid in his reunion with the other members of the Quen expedition as Aloy nervously approached. She longed to be with Aloy most of all, despite the fact that her duty forbade her from doing so for the time being. She also wished to know if Aloy shared her sentiments. Aloy can confess her affections for Seyka, and the two eventually have a kiss, depending on the player's choice.
