Lessar is a major character in the A Certain Magical Index franchise.
A member of the New Light magic cabal whose life is saved by Touma over the course of the British Halloween and becomes one of his most recurring allies. Feeling indebted to her "savior", she dedicates her time and energy into trying to seduce or persuade Touma into serving England.
She is voiced by Yūki Takada in Japanese and Brittany Lauda in English.
Appearance
Lessar is a short teenage girl with blue eyes and long black hair that have yellow dye on both sides of the bangs. As a member of New Light, she wears the cabal's uniform which consists of a white undershirt and a white jacket with red and blue sleeves. Both her jacket and shirt have the N∴L∴ logo on them. She also wears a red and blue minishirt and stockings with red and white stripes. Her most notable characteristic is her dragon-like tail which is actually a spiritual item that she wears under her skirt.
Personality
Lessar is an incredibly energetic, loud and carefree person who tends to act first and think later. Despite being a formidable magician, Lessar is unable to low profile, as shown when she is found out by Touma and Oriana and captured by them. She has a habit of talking to herself when in the middle of responses and displays rather self-centered tendencies, as the only reason she followed Touma during World War III was to try and convince him into joining New Light and working for the United Kingdom.
Like the rest of her colleagues, Lessar is extremely patriotic to Britain and will do whatever it takes to protect it, even if it means harming other in process. Moreover, she has a fear of heights even though her Dragon Tail allows her to jump really high. Lessar is also quite perverted, as shown by her multiple attempts to seduce Touma. Out of all the girls interested in Touma, Lessar is very open about her attraction to him and is fully willing to act on it. While she has thrown out vague sexual innuendos at others both before and after she meets him, Lessar sees Touma as her soulmate. After Touma was confirmed to be alive and with Levinia Birdway, Lessar decides to be more aggressive in her attempts to get him to serve the UK, even considering "whipping him".

Lessar's personal history prior to joining New Light is largely unknown.

Powers
- New Light Magic: As a member of New Light, Lessar is quite proficient in the usage of magic based in Norse Mythology. According to Bayloupe, Lessar is the strongest magician of New Light in terms of battling ability.
- Steel Glove: Like her collogues, Lessar can use the Steel Glove, a spiritual item which is a combination of Thor's three legendary item from Norse Mythology. With it, Lessar gain increased strength and destructive force. Not only that, the weapon makes use of the legends beyond Thor being a thunder god, mainly, they utilized the idea that Thor was also a god of agriculture that rules over the blessings of nature with weather-controlling powers, which lightning as one of its aspects. The four blades or claws of the Steel Glove is to "grab" things. Apparently, any object can be grabbed, from large solid objects to minuscule things such as dust or even things such as fire. From there, the user can either swing what it grabbed around or throw it at the opponent.
- Lessar Special Custom: A custom Steel Glove that has unique properties in its design that make it able to grab elements at distance via a "red laser" rather than the need to be in close proximity. It was able to grab the air on an Academy City supersonic jet and nearly replicate the "Earth Blade" via air friction though it eventually broke from being unable to withstand the friction.
- Dragon Tail: Lessar's own unique spiritual item which allows her jump at great heights and maintain balance while doing so. It can also act in response to her thoughts to grab at people or even hold her spear.
- Explosive Wind Spell: Lessar uses her Steel Glove to swing and throw a spice bag towards her enemy. The string holding the bag closed is undone and spreads the spices through the air. The spices then float around according to set laws and create a complex magic circle above the enemy. Lessar then moves her thumb horizontally while chanting, and an invisible power swirls in accordance with her actions. Once the chant is finished the magic circle explodes with a flash of light and creates an explosive surge of wind that crushes the enemy against the ground.
- Seiðr: Lessar can use this magic to create a certain type of song to generate an illusion while it is used but also has a spell that can be used to remove its ‘intoxication’. This spell works with both illusions that trick the brain and illusions that directly cause an image to appear.
- Steel Glove: Like her collogues, Lessar can use the Steel Glove, a spiritual item which is a combination of Thor's three legendary item from Norse Mythology.
